Welcome to Yellowknife 2010

............ those baggage carts should not have been used in the first place. They are from someone else's scenery...I don't think Pete realized this when he used them. We'll be replacing them. :isadizzy: ..........

   Ooooooooooops .....

Well that was a bit of a stuff up eh :icon_lol:

Back to the coal face.

Sorry guys , ya just gonna have to carry your own bags for a while.

Pete.

So far you're the only one that's reported that problem, Marcus. Are you using the static ai fleet from my package, or the ones you already had installed?

I installed the AI fleet from the package. The First Air 737, which I hadn't before, shows up fine, just as the rest of First Air's birds.

As I seem to be the only one having this issue, I have to take a further look for some duplicate AFCADs probably interfering - that's currently my suspect...

Bad luck still...

Well, I double-checked the aircraft installation and eliminated all other AFCADs and traffic files of this area - still no avail...
Buffalo and Tindi yard remain empty, as seen on the screenie.

The AFCAD fault finder marks the corresponding parking spots as 'isolated', which might be the clue. But as all of you other users can see the loitering AI fleet (do you really?), this glitch seems to be my individual bug... :banghead:

Too bad!

Cheers,
Markus.

Yep, the parking spots are isolated. No problem with that though since they remain static.
The flightplan only requires 10% of the ai slider, so I'm sure you're good there. It's got to be something really simple, just overlooked.

Just for the heck of it....square one:
1. disable any other Yellowknife entries in the FS library
2. enable the 2010 version via the FS library
3. dbl check the static ai aircraft in the main aircraft folder:
AI CYZF 737 200 First Air
AI CYZF C-46 Buffalo
AI CYZF C-130 FirstAir
AI CYZF Canso
AI CYZF DC-3 Buffalo
AI CYZF DHC6 Air Tindi
AI CYZF DHC6 CC138
AI CYZF DHC7
AI CYZF HS748 FirstAir
AI CYZF L188 Buffalo

4. dbl check the traffic bgl in the Yellowknife_CYZF_2010 scenery folder: Yellowknife_CYZF_Static_Traffic.bgl

5. still no go: try a restart of FS with the default flight (cessna at SEATAC)

As Brent says, it shouldn't matter that the parking spots are isolated. The parking spots for the First Air static ai are also isolated, but you can see those planes.

Hmmmm. Just thought of something else to check. Make sure you have no other copies of those planes in other folders. FS finds ai planes by the names in the aircraft.cfg files and ignores the folder names. So if you have a plane named "AI DC-3 Buffalo C-GPNR" in folder "AI CYZF DC-3 Buffalo", and also a plane with the same name in a folder named "AI DC-3 Buffalo", that may cause this sort of problem.

Good idea, Sid!
But there were no other same-named remains left.
Just to make sure, I re-named the aircraft of the traffic file (via decompiling with TTools) and the aircraft.cfg entries.

The result is the same:
First Air's fleet is there, the rest is missing!

Now I'll try to dedicate the free terminal gates to the specific parking codes you used (XXB-Buffalo, XXT-Tindi, XXC-CF) via AFCAD and see if those planes will show up there.

One way or another, this "Arctic Bermuda Triangle" mystery must be solved...

Aaaarrrghhhhhhhhhh!

Mystery solved.

Beyond any doubt, I'm the dork of the day! :isadizzy:
The traffic slider was set to 100%, but I had the checkbox for GA traffic unmarked.
Whatever the reason for the First Air fleet was to remain uninfluenced by this GA exclusion, the CF, Buffalo and Tindi ships thought they were GA.

It's got to be something really simple, just overlooked.
Oh, Brent: How right you were! :ernae:

Today's lesson:
When hearing hooves tapping, don't think of Zebras...

How I love this sight:

Yep.
And the nasty elevated water reservoir is in the meantime flattened with the file mentioned above.

To provide an adequate scenery exploring device, this nice eggbeater currently sits in the paint shack. Should be ready this weekend:

Markus,
Here's one variation on the theme... and I'm trying to find the pics of post-MCL construction when the script was changes to DEW Line and the RCAF name was removed.

and one more lovely pic

Odd thing now that I've had time to get everything in place and functioning... and flying about...
I'm getting more of a FPS hit than I expected (more tweaking to be done) and even with Curt's flatten I'm back to the high-rise lakes... grrrrr.

On the other hand... IT LOOKS FABULOUS!!!!!

Rob, you maybe should start by removing one or two of the Mike-Stone-built aircraft (Canso, Commando, Hercules) and see if this would give some relief: I was told that these (non-specific AI) models only have one LOD, so I would suspect them to be the frame hogs.

But cutting down the fence might help either...
