• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

I know that this utility is no longer available, but have no idea why. Did the makers go belly up, die, get a divorce? I have it (luckily it was on this system when it was given to me). Just a shame that such a useful utility is no longer readily available.

The most coolest program...

They disappeared from sight. No one could contact them. I even went through SimMarket to see if I could contact them to sponsor them free on my site and send them royalties. No ansere.


They have codes circulating that activate it, but very difficult to come by. The package also no longer works with certain computer setups.

This is what they call 'abandonware'. Absolutely nothing left in charge of it. nothing....


I for one could certainly use this. Its an amazing program.
 
Oh it's a great little programme. To me, indispensable for painting, makes the whole process so much more efficient. But sadly yes like others have said, the company just up and disappeared. The programme and its codes can still be had, but if you need support you're on your own unless some other owner has a solution.

Still, it's a lovely programme. Though it is getting old (some models won't load properly on it, or at all), I'd love if someone would make an up-to-date successor. I'd gladly pay for that.
 
I know this is not the CFS2 forum but since we're talking about tweaking utilities here, I'd like to see an update of Yusaku Homma's DPEdit which can display the wireframes of the newer gMax and FSDSv2/3 aircraft.
 
It doesn't work in Vista 64 bit, however. The program is valuable enough to my end that I think I'll resurect the old XP machine on the side just to maintain access to ACM. A modern update would be massively valuable to many of us who live to tweak flightsim.
 
Like Wozza says, this program is being updated for FSX, no time table, yet. Apparently, Karl-Heinz Klotz, the developer had health issues that kept him away for a few years. He has recently updated his AAM air file editor to work with FSX. I have no idea what will happen re FS9 and this application since he apparently no longer has a vendor for the product. Patience is a virtue, (or is it He who hestitates is lost?) I never get it right!

Downloaded this file twice today just to be sure that it was for real... :kilroy:

This is version 2.3 and it contains everything to make it operational (including the password which is in fact any 13 digit number).

I should have had this eons ago... :jump:

Over the past few years ACM has pretty much become "abandoned-ware" so I really don't see a problem with it being available from a d/l site. If/when the program's designer decides to make an updated version he can offer it at one or more of the payware sites and I'm sure folks who've used the older version (however they obtained it) will be inclined to purchase the new one.
 
After all the things I've read here at SOH that people post for actions and response from others, I'm really shocked all to hell that links to pirated software is posted for people to download.

What's wrong with this picture?

And to think that some here shun me for trying to help others based on my judgments and opinions.

I agree with the above but do agree with Oleboy that this forum and its use should remain "clean" at all times.

If I could undo what has been done, I would. In the meantime, please accept my sincerest apologies for placing this forum and all its members in a bad spot.

Tell y'all what... I've got the link to the files copied, but I've removed them from here - for now. Let me talk to the rest of the admin's and see whether we want to have the links here or not. Abandonware is an area I have very little experience with.
 
US copyright law

Copyright law does not recognize the term or concept of "abandonware". There is a long held concept of abandonment in trademark law as a direct result of the infinite term of trademark protection. Currently, a copyright can be released into the public domain if the owner clearly does so in writing; however this formal process is not considered abandoning, but rather releasing. Those who do not own a copyright cannot merely claim the copyright abandoned and start using protected works without permission of the copyright holder, who could then seek legal remedy.
