Windows 7 and FS9

Ok...I haven't been able to find a thread that gives clear directions or advise on installing FS9 or FSX into a Windows 7.

I just bought a new PC tonight, ASUS, and it has obviously Windows 7 and would like to load FS9 and I may some day also try out FSX.

Also, add-on's, is there any difficulty in installing add-ons? I have way too many and would hate to loose them.

Any help and or advise would be greatly appreciated.

It works fine

Just do not install it to the default programs files folder.

Install to C:\{any other folder name of your choice}

I installed into the Program Files (x86) directory before realising this would be a pain* but got round the pain by changing the permissions on Program Files (x86) to let anyone do anything to it - now that's not great from a security point of view, but I'm ok with that.

* As I understand it it's a pain because some of the directories doesn't really exist, Win 7 has some virtual directory, and it also has lots of protective permissions applied to it.
