WIP:sneak peak

Perhaps the video is not as bad as you think, as at least I understood you were starting an aeroplane ;)

Thanks Huub....its a shame the G model didnt have the inertia starter ...DOH!
1 week wasted getting it to work and now I have to remove all the code ...ahh well at least I learnt something....... **** lol

I was thinking the inertia starter was incorrect, but I wish an inertia starter could be added to some other FSX aircraft. Even some aircraft that originally had cartridge or direct electric starters have been restored with inertia starters. A preoiler would nice for some restored aircraft as well. There's nothing like the screaming wail of a preoiler, then the whine of an inertia stater, then electric fuel pump whine followed by copious amounts of smoke belching from the exhaust as a big radial coughs to life.

Can ya tell I love reciprocating engines?

Yeah its a bit of a b u mmer :) but if ya learn something it hasnt been wasted. At least it helped me get around the silly FSX nano sec starter.
Ill post up the code others and I have nutted out, hopefully we may see more realistic radical radial start ups in the future ;)

A gripe I have had about the FS series is the poor starting sequence with reciprocating engines. It's hard to believe that the MS team could not find a way to make the starter crank the engine through at least three revolutions before the engine fires up. Even Oleg Maddox was able to implement a slow start in the Il2 series.

Great bit of work and it's getting closer to release:applause:

Like Roger and Mike (in another thread) already mentioned it is a very well done model. As it is an advanced trainer it is not as simple to fly as I expected. It has some unconventional animations, for instance you have to open the canopy "by hand" as shift-E will only unlock it.

Cheers,
Huub

Most aircraft of the WWII generation used a crank for canopy control, it's nice to see feature that included. This is looking great!
