:wavey:Hello

Well, I've managed to create a website that will do the job for the 67th Special Operations Squadron. And I found some files I zipped a few weeks ago and forgot about on my thumb drive, so I'm not as far behind the plan as I thought.:applause: Soon I'm going to upload some teaser screenshots of what's been acomplished so far.

I'll post here all new news on my project.:icon31:

...And some more. I added a cannon in the nose of the P-51 because I noticed most russian planes had them, on both lend-lease planes and Soviet's own.

Here's the planes I have lined up. I'm almost half done.

He 111h (German)
P-51 (Russian)
Hurricane (Finnish)
Hurricane (Russian)
Ju 88 (Finnish)
Ju 87 (German)
Fw 190a (Russian)
Fw 190a (German)
Bf 109g (Finnish)
Bf 109e (German)
Fw 200 (Finnish)
Trainer (Russian)

Mig 3 (Russian)
Yak 9 (Russian)
Buffalo (Finnish)
P-39 (Russian)

P-40 (Finnish)
Fi 156 Storch (German)
Ju 86 (German)
Ar 240 (German)
Do 172z (German)
Spitfire Mk I (Russian)

I suppose the project is a little ambitious.:isadizzy:

Expanding the CFS world

~S~ W,

As it is now we can go from WWI to Star-Wars and beyond. My ambitious idea is to go back in time to the Civil War. CFS could have the ironclads dueling it out off the coast or up a river and hot air balloons shooting it out over the White House. CSA subs blowing up sailing ships in the harbors. That would be the only way the South could ever rise again.

Canada could be on our side.

What do you think?

Hi Winslow33,

First of all, call your Spitfire a Mk.IX because that is what it really is. The 4 blade propeller is a dead giveaway and if you flip it over, the radiators would be a giveaway as well. No problem though because there WERE Spitfire Mk.IX's sent to the Russians. The planes that were sent were generally pretty beat (from a book by Alfred Price about Spitfires). Also, from a book (Mushroom I think) about the P-39, the performance of these Spitfires was not quite as good as we might normally expect. Maximum speed at altitude was only about 390.

I didn't think the US ever sent P-51D's to the Russians, but I may be wrong. What I DO know is that the P-51D could never have mounted a gun firing through the propeller hub without some major re-engineering. The Russian Klimov engines used in the Yaks were based on a Hispano engine and had the room between the cylinder banks (and enough offset in the reduction gear) to allow for the motor cannon. I don't believe the Merlins had the room. If someone knows better, please let me know.

- Ivan.

Well, a civil war campaign sure would be different! It might be kind of fun, a TG2 aimable gun in a hot air baloon.

And the russians did in fact recieve Mustangs. I thought I read it in a book a while ago, and I just looked on wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Flag_of_the_Soviet_Union.svg Soviet Union The Soviet Union received at least 10 early-model Mustangs and tested them in combat. Some reports suggest that other Mustangs that were abandoned in Russia after the famous "shuttle missions" were repaired and used by the Soviet Air Force, but not in front line service.
I guess I'll have to rip out the cannon:isadizzy:

And re-work the Spitfire.:banghead:

Oh. I forgot a plane on my list: The Finnish Brewster Buffalo:d

just for fun,
open the model folder in the sopcamel folder
then open the model.cfg file
change Yellow to Gray and save.
IMO, it makes the Camel much easier on the eyes.

Good idea. Is there any way I can broaden my range of colors? All of them are bright! OLIVE is more like bright green, RED looks more like a fire engine!:isadizzy::isadizzy: I kink of liked the yellow because it just seems fitting for a trainer, but it is hard on the eyes.

More work done on the 67th today.

I'm akmost done with the planes as soon as I get 3 found, and another 4 painted. That should be done this time tomorow.:isadizzy:

Here's some pictures. And let me explain about the Swordfish:

Britain declared war on Finland when they joined up with Germany. One of the only british air raids on Finnish soil was a mission where 5 Swordfish bombed a Finnish port. All 5 of the british aircraft were lost.

Oh, and not to give too much away, but I'm planning on adding a flyable gun, so ground troops can shoot back at the planes with a little help from TG2.:costumes: And I have another idea, wich I'm not going to give away YET. It'll be a little surprise.

?????? I have no idea what happened to the pictures... I'll try uploading them again later.:isadizzy::isadizzy:

Scenery

Well, now almost all of the scenery is done. I found some nice Eastern Front scenery a while ago on flightsim.com that looks a lot better than I could do. My Moscow scenery some how ended up in Greenland:isadizzy: and looks more like a small village...

...So I think I'll just use this instead. It's more located in East Germany and Poland I think, but it looks very realistic. Now I just have to get the planes past the testing stage, get scripting the website togeather, upload the files, and we're cleared for takeoff.:cost1:

So soon I'll be sending out the invitations.:jump::jump::jump:

BTW, I think I know how to make soldier API's, so if I can convert them into static objects with a .DP, we can have an army to strafe, although they are paper thin...:banghead:

I was wondering if anybody has two .AIR files I could use:

One for a Yakolev Yak 9

One for a Bell P-39

What happened to the air files?

~S~ W,

What happened to your air files? If you deleted them or otherwise messed them up, you should still have the original zip files.

j.:isadizzy:

I still have them, it's just that they are too unrealistic. The top speed for the Yak 9 is 150 MPH.:isadizzy: And the P-39 stalls too easy.:banghead:

:applause::applause::applause:Well, it took a little longer than I thought for the planes, but with the exeption of a few russian bombers I can do without, the aircraft are done.:applause::applause::applause:
