World War II according to Helldiver

"The historical research, which you dismiss so cavalierly and with such inexplicable contempt, was done by a lot of different people."
Not the point I was making. A lot of them are on the mark and I have no argument with them But there is some stuff that makes me shudder, it's so far from the truth.
I just don't want everyone take this junk as gospel.
For instance, the SB2C and the B-26 Marauder. Since thy had to prove themselves during the course of the war, they were severly criticsized for their initial shortcomings.
Since the SBD was "raised" during peace time it didn't have too prove itself. But when they corrected the deficiencies in both aircraft, they turned out to do their appointed tasks quite well. The SB2C was used all the way up to Viet Nam by the French. But when you read about them by these "authorities", both airplanes were dogs. One even said that the Helldiver spelled the end for Curtiss Wright aircraft.
But I think that both airplanes did their tasks very well as the record will show.
