Oh I certainly am, and I'm sure I'm not alone here. I have been looking forward to the release since before OFF Phase one was released. Was still reading about it when Phase two was released. I'm still looking forward to it now that Phase 3 is here. Trouble with me is I actually like to fly. I'm just not content to watch videos and read about "the next beast thing." But that's just me.

Absolutely fantastic eye-candy, the best I've ever seen.

But what are you going to do with it? Duel against other human pilots? And that's it?

A lot of people are going to end up feeling very disappointed, once the taste of the candy has faded away.

I've already gotten used to OFF's eye-candy, but fortunately it has an ever-changing narrative that goes on and on.

That's the difference between a real sim and an MP wank-fest.

I don't know about you but I'm going to go fly me some WWI airplanes with it. Wank-fest? What's that? YOu seem to have experience there so please enlighten us.

That scene looks very impressive indeed, just don't look to close at the aircraft, the scenery, the trees, the clouds

And pictures of those aircraft, are only found in the sim

Is there a U.S. Release date . . YET ??

Wank-Fest in Britian

Circle-Jerk in USA

Looks good BUT

why cant you just give credit where credit is due.
would you like to see a list of this sim's shortfall's. i think not, nor is their reason to state them.
they all have their good and their bad points but the idea is to have fun and enjoyment with them.
there are those of us who happen to love on line co-ops and get a great deal of joy out of them.should we then offer critisism and below the belt remarks about campaign flying, well i think not as that is where you get your joy. i can guarantee you i will soon be leaveing this forume if it doesnt change for you have become IL-2's little cousin around here and it disgusts me to see the way it has changed . but suite yourself, for it is your forume and the way the public perceives you reflects the clientel you wish to attract.
PD

Well I'm going to buy it for one - looks good and should be well polished with the big team they have. All sims will have good and bad points and we need to support all the sims we can get.

M: Ah. I'd like to have an argument, please.
R: Certainly sir. Have you been here before?
M: No, I haven't, this is my first time.
R: I see. Well, do you want to have just one argument, or were you thinking of taking a course?
M: Well, what is the cost?
R: Well, It's one pound for a five minute argument, but only eight pounds for a course of ten.
M: Well, I think it would be best if I perhaps started off with just the one and then see how it goes.
R: Fine. Well, I'll see who's free at the moment.
Pause
R: Mr. DeBakey's free, but he's a little bit conciliatory.
Ahh yes, Try Mr. Barnard; room 12.
M: Thank you.
(Walks down the hall. Opens door.)

Q: WHAT DO YOU WANT?
M: Well, I was told outside that...
Q: Don't give me that, you snotty-faced heap of parrot droppings!
M: What?
Q: Shut your festering gob, you tit! Your type really makes me puke, you vacuous, coffee-nosed, maloderous, pervert!!!
M: Look, I CAME HERE FOR AN ARGUMENT, I'm not going to just stand...!!
Q: OH, oh I'm sorry, but this is abuse.
M: Oh, I see, well, that explains it.
Q: Ah yes, you want room 12A, Just along the corridor.
M: Oh, Thank you very much. Sorry.
Q: Not at all.
M: Thank You.
(Under his breath) Stupid git!!

(Walk down the corridor)
M: (Knock)
A: Come in.
M: Ah, Is this the right room for an argument?
A: I told you once.
M: No you haven't.
A: Yes I have.
M: When?
A: Just now.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: You didn't
A: I did!
M: You didn't!
A: I'm telling you I did!
M: You did not!!
A: Oh, I'm sorry, just one moment. Is this a five minute argument or the full half hour?
M: Oh, just the five minutes.
A: Ah, thank you. Anyway, I did.
M: You most certainly did not.
A: Look, let's get this thing clear; I quite definitely told you.
M: No you did not.
A: Yes I did.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: No you didn't.
A: Yes I did.
M: You didn't.
A: Did.
M: Oh look, this isn't an argument.
A: Yes it is.
M: No it isn't. It's just contradiction.
A: No it isn't.
M: It is!
A: It is not.
M: Look, you just contradicted me.
A: I did not.
M: Oh you did!!
A: No, no, no.
M: You did just then.
A: Nonsense!
M: Oh, this is futile!
A: No it isn't.
M: I came here for a good argument.
A: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.
M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
A: Yes it is!
M: No it isn't!

A: Yes it is!
M: Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes.
(short pause)
A: No it isn't.
M: It is.
A: Not at all.
M: Now look.
A: (Rings bell) Good Morning.
M: What?
A: That's it. Good morning.
M: I was just getting interested.
A: Sorry, the five minutes is up.
M: That was never five minutes!
A: I'm afraid it was.
M: It wasn't.
Pause
A: I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to argue anymore.
M: What?!
A: If you want me to go on arguing, you'll have to pay for another five minutes.
M: Yes, but that was never five minutes, just now. Oh come on!
A: (Hums)
M: Look, this is ridiculous.
A: I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to argue unless you've paid!
M: Oh, all right.
(pays money)
A: Thank you.
short pause
M: Well?
A: Well what?
M: That wasn't really five minutes, just now.
A: I told you, I'm not allowed to argue unless you've paid.
M: I just paid!
A: No you didn't.
M: I DID!
A: No you didn't.
M: Look, I don't want to argue about that.
A: Well, you didn't pay.
M: Aha. If I didn't pay, why are you arguing? I Got you!
A: No you haven't.
M: Yes I have. If you're arguing, I must have paid.
A: Not necessarily. I could be arguing in my spare time.
M: Oh I've had enough of this.
A: No you haven't.
M: Oh Shut up.

This is not an :argue:
Ours is better than your's!
No it's not!
Yes it is!
No!
Yes!

Civil War benefits absolutely noone. These are both great Great War sims, something we have not seen for a decade. All the sniping does is piss people off and drive them away, and this community is so small we cannot afford it. OFF and RoF each have a different focus, but they are both very worthy of our support.
Enough already!

If you haven't noticed, check out the Net Team work video again and notice the hand signal communications. Is that awesome or what?!:woot:

Future of flight sims?

Thanks again Pol. Microsoft has shut down it's flight sim team. How many flight sims are in the works I wonder? ROF has been for some time now. Would we be happy if they pulled the plug? I've been shopping in the biggest electronics store in the states, Best Buy,and they have one or two flight sims on the shelves. Maybe two basic joysticks on the shelves(in beat up boxes) no peddle rudders. And just when was there a new release of a sexy new flight stick, is any manufacturer coming out with one? I don't know just asking.? Sure you can find old stuff online, okay. Seems a lot of us are flying mods of very old releases. Back in the day I flew Dawn Patrol, Red Baron and Flying Corps all around the same time. I called myself a fanboy of OFF a few days ago and I am. I am a fanboy of WWI aviation and anything that approaches quality of intended purpose or is informative or meets a need, I am in favour of. Let's see what ROF brings to the table before we find ourselves eating crow and maybe humble pie. Sorry for going on so.

I have no problem with ROF, I'm looking forward to it. Let's see what happens if you go over to their forum and post a link to an OFF video though, or over to one of the other forums, want to try it and report back to us? Has any one done that? I personally made a few comments about ROF, I didn't bash it, and I don't think anyone else did here, let's not be so sensitive.

Yeah, that's a link to only one of the videos showcasing the great programming that has gone into ROF. I posted two more so enjoy!

Obviously, if you went there from WF2s earlier post you would have seen the other videos, right?

Fully agree with everything you said. And I, too, was a Flying Corps addict back when - and hadn't found anything remotely comparable for years after. Then by pure happenstance I found out about OFF 3 in another forum, bought it, and haven't regreted my decision. I'll buy ROF as well when it becomes available. As Pol said, only by our support of this era sims will they hopefully continue to proliferate. And from a programming standpoint he can fully appreciate what it takes to produce a quality product.

I´m looking forward to RoF but the hefty minimal requirements make me gulp.
