Post 16 Update

Post 17 Warning old domain name stealing credentials

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION - ALL MEMBERS PLEASE READ

Due to an increase in the number of new members who are trying to systematically download our entire Resource Library (one new member yesterday tried to download 3,000+ files AT ONCE!) we are being forced to implement some changes regarding who can download what, how many files at a time and at what speed. As the forums and Resource Library share the same bandwidth when the Library gets overloaded with demand like that the forums fall over, as we have all seen recently. It's sad that greed has forced our hand in this way but we must do something for the benefit of all our legitimate members (many of whom paid money for the upkeep of the site) and to prevent the files stored here being used for nefarious purposes. Many of our uploads have specific conditions tied to them that forbid uploading to any other site or deny uploading to any site that has a 'paywall' (i.e. a pay to download policy). Due to the number of mass download attempts recently we can only assume that somebody, somewhere, is attempting to stock up a new file library with our files and we owe it to our up-loaders to protect their files and intellectual property especially as many (like my own LDR Development projects) are made available at SOH only and are specified as such in the 'read me' files.

The forums and Resource Library will be taken offline as of 13:00 EDT with the forums coming back online shortly after without the resources library while we work on setting up permissions on the new Library module.

We hope our members understand why we need to do this and will bear with us while we implement the changes.

    Thanks in anticipation, SOH ADMINISTRATION

Downloads are now active. You may proceed with downloading as desired

The download limits are a work in progress. Some settings are likely to need tweaking in the coming days.

WW1 Western Front scenery package!

Livestock in CFS2?

Just took off from Bailluel-Asylum aerodrome and was advised I was missing JMcow 1,2 and 4 in my library!? I don't recall seeing cows in the scenery section.

Great work everyone!!!

Tried to fly the two missions but they don't show up as choices. Could someone please put the .dyn s in the mission folder?

Thanks, voyager

Hi Voyager,

Sorry...my bad. Your problem with starting probably stems from the allegiance numbers. In my country.cfg they are 4 (German Naval Air Service) and 9 (Royal Naval Air Service). Those entries should fit an Aerocrate country.cfg.

My UIRES set for these two services are in the library but will soon be replaced by a new 10 "country" UIRES set.

I'm not sure why my MB didn't make .dyn files for the missions:pop4:

Thanks KD, I completely re-installed my SCENEDB and with the exceptions below, everything looks fine now.

Hi Stoney,

I can see a couple of polygons without textures in your screenshots. I recommend installing Sander de Cocq's EurW textures first so that everything is there. You can then start experimenting with texture combinations.

I notice you're using the meandering river textures. There are generally straight canals in the low countries. I think the straight river textures are more realistic for this part of the world. I've included them in the package if you want to try them out.

Damn! Another download to add to the hyperlink list. I have a feeling it's by No Dice. I'll get onto Ravenna to see where he placed the feeding livestock.

Thanks Stoney,

Kevin

Hello again Stoney,

I also noticed in your screenshots you have the WW2 GSL objects selected for Dunkirk.

If you want to have the Saint-Pol-sur-Mer aerodrome infrastructure showing, use the Western Front.gsl file. The oil refinery west of the field wasn't there in WW1.

Kevin

Many thanks guys. I've got it all sorted out now, with your kind help!

Hi All,
Found a small problem with the download links.
The link for Westfront’s CFS2 Library Objects Expansion (CFS2_Library_Objects_Expansion.zip).
Incorrectly points to Lyngvig Lighthouse (Lyngvig_Lighthouse.zip).

Hi B24,

Thanks for that. I don't know what's causing this. The Flanders Roads Sampler link was also pointing to Lyngvig Lighthouse until Rami gave me an alternative link to the correct download.

I've merged Stoney's missing livestock thread with this one in order to keep all the related WW1 correspondence together.

I'll wait a little longer to see if there are any other issues before I put out an updated installation guide.

Cheers,

Kevin

Well...we always expected a few glitches! The library expansion package link now points to the correct zip. As for the cows, they were added and removed so many times I couldn't remember whether they were left in situ.

Sorry to bother anyone but I can't find the following missing bgls. after hunting through files multiple times. miltower, miltowersrt, and castle3.
thanks for any help

voyager

Hi All,
I had the same problem as voyager. Found the Castle3 thanks to your post.
The link is missing for No Dice's "VietSceneobj1.zip" in the install instructions.

B24Guy
