XFJ-2B Fury....

Brilliant job, Duckie! :applause:

My shots are nowhere near as dramatic as Sean's, but I'm already tickled pink (or should I say Navy Blue) about already logging my first trap and cat shot! :ernaehrung004:

I used the Essex-class carrier from the Warbirdsim Mustang Tales package to give myself a bit of realism, with the added bonus of knowing exactly where to find it.

Thanks Craig. Great to see the hook and launch assist are working out. It's very gratifying that folks are enjoying the repaints. Of course, the Miviz F-86 makes it easy to enjoy almost any repaint of their outstanding model.

BTW... #754 should be uploaded later tonight. Finally got the bump map mod for the hook as good as I could get it. Will package it up after dinner and send it on its way.

Just uploaded.

 :playful:

Smashing paint Steve:encouragement:

One thing mate.. the readme instructs to make a copy of the texture folder texture.175. There IS a texture folder texture.USAF_175 but not texture.175. I used texture.178 (in case it's a typo) for both and they appear to be fine;)

Thanks very much Dave.

OOPS! You are absolutely correct Dave. Thank you for pointing that out. I will correct it on the next one, N0.755. to be honest, I wasn't even seeing the USAF! Oh, and I don't have a texture.178. The main things I use from USAF_175 are the specular files. They are a tad lighter and give a little bit more shine than most of the other stock textures. But in the case of 754, you're only using 2 of them. The other spec files in use with this repaint have been modded to accommodate a few panel line mods and are included with the repaint.

Thanks again,

Steve

Hi Steve:wavey:

I think I must have 2 versions of FU178 installed. One is listed as such and the other must be plain old 178!! I'll swap them for USAF175 now as that was their intended set;)

They really are smashing paints and the detail is breath-taking. Looking forward to the 3rd and final paint in the set:encouragement:

Missing Texture USAF175

Hi Ducky,

I have your new XFJ-2 Fury #754 textyre. Unfortunately I no longer have the base texture files that you specify from texture USAF175. It was deleted, and my backup is corrupted. In the meanwhile I have asked Colin (MV) for a reinstall of my Livery Pack. Can you specify some other base texture other than 175 (I did not keep any of the Korean war USAF textures)?

Bill

Hi Bill, instead of making a copy of an existing folder, you can just create a new folder using the name in the read me, then pick up from there. It should work just fine as I've included all but 2 of the necessary files for this particular paint. So, the stock textures in the "texture" folder will be used by default in the absence of a detail texture contained in a specific repaint folder. If you run in to any problems drop me a pm and we'll work it out. I'm not at my home PC or I could have given you a little more detail. Let me know how it works out.

ATB,
Steve

755 is almost ready....
