Well we have started off testing the latest beta in multiplayer and so far the results look promising. So here's to hoping that the rest of the beta happens quickly so we can get this one out to the masses. :ernae:

A shot after the flyby. Hopefully everyone enjoyed the preview. We should have more coming your way prior to the release.

This Aircraft was built to be Multiplayer Friendly , as a server operator it’s a priority for me as i do all my simming on line , interestingly the sonic boom effect was visible as were the afterburners , tracking MP aircraft as well as AI aircraft a treat for sure .<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I look forward to meeting more of the SOH members online in the future ! <o:p></o:p>

You guys are killing us. Speaking for myself, I think my keyboard is going to short-circuit from drooling on it looking at your screenshots so much! :icon_lol:

Looking great, can't wait for release! Supporter of the F-22 that I am, I've always loved the sleek and sinister profile of the YF-23 - going back to when I had the water-gun GI Joe toy of it back in the early '90s! lol

I can't wait ive alway prefered this to the f22 i don't know why its just more unusual i suppose can't wait to give it a damn good thrashing!!

Iris F-15E circa 2005

2009-6-19_18-31-15-919.jpg

YF-23 circa 2009-almost 2010.

For the price, I don't think I'll be buying this. Looks like old Iris stuff to me.
Sorry.... Am I the only one here who just isn't happy with the pit?

I've heard that the YF-23 implimented some of the parts from the F-15E and all that jazz. Ok, but that looks EXACTLY like the Iris VC. Not just in modeling, but in the textures too.

Someone put it best to me, "It looks like the plane is constantly in a shadow"

The real YF-23 used an F-15 cockpit, so thats why they are so similar. As for your observations about them using the same model and texture, they look nothing alike. Not even close. Look at the frame for the HUD, also the IRIS pit doesn't even have the projector modeled and textured. Also, the F-23 uses a side stick, the F-15 a center stick. The bolts on the canopy are also completely different. The two screenshots your using are night and day from what I see.

Another thing is the YF-23 image your using shows very little of the cockpit. Just the 3 MFD's. Here is a better shot from another thread.

You can see the cockpit is differant in every way.

Thanks for the extra shot.

You are right though, they are night and day. I can barely see any details in the YF-23 VC.

Like I said, it looks like it's always in a shadow. I can't even read the MFD's!

Have you even seen an F-22 cockpit? They are very dark, so the important things like information contrast, for pilot visibility and less glair on the bubble canopy. Its just the way it was.

Sure have seen a 22 pit, live 30 miles from where they are built. Best friends dad does the Avionics installation and another friends dad is the "second in command" at lockheed martin in Marrietta if you want to call him that, and sorry, but that is no excuse for not being able to read the MFD's and gauges.

Maybe try the brightness button?

N/M. Just checked. Does not work, but I dont have a problem reading stuff.

It may just be that the cockpit was in shadow or something. I think it has a lot to do with taking a screenshot from far away does make it seem a bit dim. Also, I dont know how to use the MFD's. Maybe you can change the color of the readout? Dunno. Im a Warbird guy.

There are three methods to change brightness , one switch for the HUD with day / night , in addition a dimmer knob for the HUD , as well there is one dimmer knob for the text on the upper com display.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
For the MDF screens there is a dedicated sub window for setting resolution , display brightness and size of text as well as the refresh rate .<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
All of the above function and are included in the documentation that will ship with the aircraft , whose cockpit i find to be a work of Art , both day and night, but i have the Aircraft and no reservations and Menendez Diego doesn’t and is unreservedly distressed by the dark .... <o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>

From what I can tell, the layout of the cockpit and switchology follows the drawings in the flight manual.

Cheers: T.

See th ose last few pics, I can actually see the cockpit now. I think it was a case of poor screen shots by the others.

Glad you can see the inside,

Regards, Diego

Very cool. I tried fumbling around with the MFD, but quickly got lost. Thanks for correcting me! I didnt know these MFD's could be so functional in a flight sim!!! I need to get flying more.

shes looking better by the day, but im really looking forward to the F-22 and seeing if i can beat a F-22 in a YF-23:173go1:lookin forward

Kevin:

In an electronic aircraft, the built in artificial stability is important so that one can be able to do a little button pushing. The MFD's are bright enough in use, though the size and resolution of you screne may affect the need to zoom in a bit to clearly read them. This is a sim problem with any small instrument or placard. Familarity with these systems and their operation is essential in the fighter environment. If you have the flight manual, a good explination of the switchology is available.

Cheers: Tom

I guess I need to ****. Gone are the days that you can jump in, light em up, and go tooling around the canyons!:icon_lol:
