• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

This FW190 was intended to become a Mosquito hunter.

NJG3_8.jpg

In November 1943 there was some concern in cetain Luftwaffe circles that the speed of the Ju88 C-6 and Ju88 R01 was insufficient to combat the civil Mosquitoes which were flying between Scotland and Sweden. The Staffelkapitän of 10./NJG3, Oblt. Hans-Hermann Müller. whose Staffel was then based at Aalborg-West in Denmark, decided to employ the FW190. But an appeal for a loan of such an aircraft from a neighbouring unit 10./JG11 at Aalborg East was refused. Müller then appealed to 2.Jagddivision and was provided with one FW190 A-5 which was assigned the code D5+XV. IN December, 10./JG11 was ordered to loan Müller two FW190 A-4s, which were subsequently coded D5+YV and D5+ZV and while in charge of 10./NJG3 the FW190 detachment was known as NachtjagdKommando 190. However trials with the single-seat FW190s did not result in the expected successes and the A-4s were returned to JG11 in February. The A-5 was also eventually returned to 2.Jagddivision in March.

This repaint should be available soon.

Cheers,
Huub

just one question
do you have an alternative tail version
it is excellent:guinness:

Finally I know why this experiment didn't worked. The Mossie flew against the mountain before it could get hit :d ;)

Henry, when you are looking for the "historical tailmarking", it in the texture.njg3 folder. Just delete the file "ch_fw190_noseart_t.dds"first and rename the file "ch_fw190_noseart_t_SW.dds" into "ch_fw190_noseart_t.dds" afterwards. (its all in the readme.......)

Cheers,
Huub

readme am i supposed to read that?
H

Please see it as an invitation and not a requirement ;)

However I must confess that writing the readme and the uploading process are often the most stressing parts of making repaints for me....

Cheers,
Huub

No offense 'enry but I wouldn't give a squat of support to people refusing to read readmes.

It can be as little as scanning them for additional information than the standard installation steps, copyright disclaimers etc...

Those files are named "Readmes" for a reason.

And yes, writing readmes is a stressful job. But if you're mostly a repainter you don't have to change much in your basic readme layout anyways.
