Zeebrugge Naval Air Station Flanders 1

Michael,

Yes, I do have the Flanders scenery. Turns out it's also useful for BoF, as well. :encouragement:

Hi Rami

I believe the object gr_hse1 is an object in the in the stock scenery_cfs_library and in the remodeled scenery_cfs_library found in issue14.

It is a stock object with an incorrect dp.

Issue 14 page 25

scenery_cfs_library Remodeled: DP's not working

After testing the remodelled scenery_cfs_library, I found that a few objects
do not show up in mission Builder, they are
gr_apt0.dp
gr_apt1.dp
gr_apt2.dp
gr_apt3.dp
gr_apt4.dp
gr_bl0.dp
gr_bl1.dp
gr_hse0.dp
gr_hse1.dp
gr_hse2.dp
gr_hse3.dp
gr_hse4.dp
gr_hse5.dp
lighthse.dp

The reason for this is that there are no category in the DP's

Example
[MISC_DATA]
unit_family=4
The data should look like this
[MISC_DATA]
unit_family=4
category=31

The modified DP's are included in this issue

Ravenna,

Some great news...Zeebrugge works beautifully, and frame rates are more than acceptable, especially on my desktop. On the laptop, frame rates were above twenty-four, which means there was no stutter.

You also did a nice job on the locks, and I can see the areas where Kevin adjusted the water class. Nice work!

When I complete the Bruges installation, I will do the final cleanup transfer and copy my laptop installs to my desktop, so everything will be updated, and I'll post a few screenshots. :very_drunk:

Now, onto Bruges. :encouragement:

Ravenna,

Great work on Zeebrugge! I'll be contacting you about Bruges tonight.

Ha! Your screen shots show what I am missing. I am still getting fuzzy textures, looking like a mid summer heat haze when I fly around Flanders and northern France. I've started a fresh install so I'm about to experience the misery this will inflict on anyone else installing Bruges-Zeebrugge.
Can I just point out that Kevin's redrawing of the coastline and flattening of the landscape made all this possible. :ernaehrung004:

Thanks Michael and Andrew. I'm starting to get the hang of Ground2K. Allen and B24 Guy did a great job with the infrastructure.

Kevin

I'm still getting some ground texture bleeding through into the lock's water. Mostly this happens as I get close to the lock/s. A minor quibble but it happens consistently.

Ravenna,

I am happy to report that testing is complete with the newest layouts sent to me by Kdriver...Bruges looks great! Frame rates are acceptable as well. I'll try and post some screenshots by the weekend.

Now, back to 25 May...

The Wayback machine does its thing!
We now have some aircraft parked on the mole circa 1917-18, courtesy of the B24Guy (thaks Scott!!)

I'd post a pic here but the only ones I have are on our PC and it is being commandeered today. I'll post one later today when I'm allowed into the study!:running:

The Flanders scenery is definitely very impressive.
I was fortunate enough to get some pre-view editions that Kdriver sent me, and the richness in detail is fascinating.
Gontrode and St Denijs Westrem both complement Rami´s Ghent scenery very well indeed.

Then, Zeebrugge and Bruges on the coast are absolutely great...
The perfect place for the future Gotha G.1 UWD, WD7 and WD14 upgrades to operate from.
Meanwhile, if you like, I could try and convert FS98 versions of these 3 seaplanes into .Bgl´s and send them to you.

Fantastic work by your team!
Cheers,
Aleatorylamp

Looks very good! :encouragement:

Do the trains have to drive through the crane, though?

Roxane,
You spotted what I've been looking at for the past few days. I seem to have used two types of crane on the mole. I'll fix this before we upload. Always good to have an extra pair of eyes!

Hello,
I thought it would be more like the crane itself that was running on the rails, to be able to attend to several ships loading or unloading seaplanes at the mole, but that´s only my guess...
Aleatorylamp

Thanks Stephan. Now that you mention it, the cranes in front of the hangars were used to lift floatplanes off their dollies and lower them into the water (and vice versa). All the cranes were set on track runners and were equipped with different attachments (slings and braces) for lifting aircraft and ordnance. Torpedoes were often loaded at the mole to save weight in the run up the canal from Bruges.

OK, here's what I have done: I've replaced the old files with the updates, had a look in the sim; no real change nototiced so I sent the z_railroad.bmp to PSP for editing. I kept the bmp dimensions, made a new image using those dimensions and placed a narrower rail line in the new image using Robert's rail line. Placed an alpha strip down both sides, outside Robert's rail line and saved. Replaced the z_railroad with the new version but couldn't see any real difference. Is the problem that I'm using the same dimensions?:disturbed:.......
Nope, tried making the rail line narrower but there is no real difference in the sim.
