I really like seeing "Y2-K" taking form there, Doug! One of my favorites of restored Spitfires.

Please take note that the exhaust stacks, parts of the canopy frame and windscreen, and the short cannon stubs aren't properly colored yet. The paint kit doesn't come with the exhaust stacks properly colored, so for those, in my own repaints (currently in the works), I have taken one of the product fuselage textures and added the exhaust textures from those. Finding all of the canopy/windscreen parts is a bit of a lengthy task, as they are spread out all around the fuselage texture sheet. By using the guide layers, and loading the plane with those guide layers, I was finally able to locate them all after spending a few hours with it.

Also, for anyone making repaints for the FlyingIron Spitfire, when it comes to painting the cannons, I would recommend looking at the updated repaints by Brad617 - he was able to figure out how to paint them so that the cannons properly have the upper and lower surface colors (https://flightsim.to/file/11186/flying-irons-spitfire-ixc-mk356 https://flightsim.to/file/10148/flying-irons-spitfire-ixc-ml417-a-piece-of-cake https://flightsim.to/file/10781/flying-irons-spitfire-ixc-ml417-21-t )

I still have some touchups, particularily those are on the list, still watching videos and scouring photos for reference/details. That I believe is half the fun of getting things right. Cheers John, thanks!

Sounds good, Doug! I just wanted to make sure you were aware of those items as I've seen some repaints seemingly rushed through and uploaded without some of those details being addressed.

Brad617, are you going to share that paint here or elsewhere? I'm a sucker for clipped wings Spits with invasion stripes!!

Hi Pam,

That (and the previous shots you posted) looks lovely! Any idea on when we can expect this beauty?

Cheers,

Priller

We're getting close.. Technically we're down to putting the polish on it. currently we're waiting to see if Mr. Dave Hatfield will be so kind as to come in and let us pick his brains as hes a P-40 guy from the git go, and we'd really value his input..
