We need Teams of members to help us restore the file library to this server. I would prefer to tackle this with members from each forum section.

The new file library has the same structure as the old library. One for one we need to download the files and then upload them here. I almost have a document done to show you how to upload files here. I need to know who will be helping us so I can get permissions set correctly. Once the file is uploaded you will change the file owner to the original member who uploaded it.

Once it is uploaded here I want to remove it from the old library.

All covered in the document I think... Still writing it

And on another note uploads at our old server are shut off. Upload all new files to this server. The resources section is actually pretty cool.

Please reply in the thread below with your intention to help and which section you will help with.

I would be interested in helping out. However, I am concerned that recently I have had trouble downloading some add ons and get a broken link. I am not sure its a library problem or at my end. But anyway I will help out with the ones I can download.
 
Let's start with CFS3 Other Items>sub categories sounds, effects, utilities, and scenery. When those are done we can pick some others. Let me know when its go time.

I forgot about one thing in the PDF. If you have resources editor permissions and the user is no longer apart of SOH assign the file to the user NMG

Hi guys,

As you no doubt are aware all of the Warbirds files need to be moved here to the new server. Except for perhaps Mpngoose, it looks like NO ONE from the CFS3 forum is volunteering to help.

So far only Allen and I have moved any of the CFS3 files. There is zero way your files are going to get transferred withot some volunteers here rolling up their sleeve to help.

Well, I have downloaded my ones, just haven't uploaded yet. Are you serious that no more CFS3 ones have been done?
 
I transferred what I could and then made a choice to either spend 8 to 10 hrs a day trying to get some theaters published or spend my time transferring files. I guess I am selfish or a.........
 
What's involved? Is it matter of downloading from the old library and then uploading to the new one? I have some spare time.
 
Yes I'm serious. If Allen or I haven't done it, no other CFS3 files have been transferred. Allen and I have transferred about 500 files which is only 17%. There are approximately 2,500 files left. There is a July deadline before the old Warbirds site shuts down.

Mongoose: That's not helpful. The files are being transferred by sections rather than individual's files. It's the only way to keep track of what has been transferred and what hasn't. Just downloading yours alone and then re-uploading them will wind up duplicating them if the section they are in has been transferred. I've already transferred a few of yours.

Bob: I saw you transferred a few sceneries, I finished the whole section so that one is complete.

Pat: It is not difficult at all, just takes a little time. It is in fact just downloading from the old library and then uploading to the new library here. Thank you for volunteering.

Come on, anyone else? The CFS3 section is lagging far behind ALL the other sim sections, some are already complete, or close to it, because they had volunteers.
 
Well, I was only asked to deal with those specific files, which are in fact Netwings sections, not part of sections. My understanding is that I have til the end of July to upload, if that's not good enough, I suggest you take over ALL mine! :/ I am actually also working every day on CFS3 projects as well as usual real life stuff.
 
Hey mongoose, no offense. It looks like I have misunderstood what you were saying - apologies. We definitely need your help. Which section(s) in particular are you downloading and going to be working on? So I can make a record and make sure we don't duplicate files. And yes we have until July 28.

That great. It didn't get recorded anywhere except in the message string so I'll fix that. Again my apologies and thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

PS: It looks like Allen wasn't aware either. He did the transfers for the Ships and the Campaigns sections (which are only 6 files total) so you can skip those two sections. We'll make sure we don't step on your toes for the rest of them now.
