iniBuilds T-33 Jet Trainer Released

Guys, general question for the classic cockpit, i though the RMI also pointed to the TACAN station if tuned?

So for i only get the DME indication yet no active pointer either 1 or 2 in the RMI?

Also the NAV1 seems to override the DME, even if the TACAN mode is selected.
- So no station tuned in NAV1 and TACAN tuned -> DME shows TACAN DME
- When NAV1 station tuned and TACAN tuned -> DME show NAV1 DME

*NEW* Canadair T-33 Mk.3 21505 of Central Experimental and Proving Establishment, RCAF Station Uplands, Ontario, late 1950s.

This aircraft served the majority of it's career with CEPE as an ejection seat testing platform, with a modified canopy.

This livery is also available for MSFS2024 HERE

Note: As it stands right now, the latest update for MSFS2024 has caused a conflict with the canopy rendering such that it does not appear in external view. The canopy is visible from inside the cockpit. Hopefully iniBuilds/Asobo can come up with a fix soon.

Another new one, 21589 of No. 1 Air Division, Western Europe, circa late 1950s.

Until I get off my lazy butt and complete my NATO camo scheme for the T-33 this should give everyone something to buzz around 1950s Europe in :)

T-33s that served with NATO in the 50s did not carry two letter unit ID codes because they were assigned to Fighter Wings, rather than individual squadrons like fighter aircraft were at that time. These T-33s were used for instrument flight check rides, target towing and as general run-abouts.

Paint scheme was similar to that used in Canada at the time, but with the addition of RCAF full titles at the aft end of the fuselage.

NOTE: It's very difficult to find high res pics of the rescue stencils on the right side of early T-Birds so I've made a generalization of what they probably consisted of, until I get better reference photos.

Still tweaking...

Finish and Markings Nerd Hat/ON

When the RCAF Sabres in NATO service were camouflaged starting in 1955, the T-33s stationed overseas followed suit. Supposedly there were four camo patterns but photo research makes me think there were only two actual patterns, with each having a variation of either high or low demarcation between the upper and lower colours, for a total of "four" patterns. The one I'm currently working on is the early pattern, with the higher demarcation (currently unfinished on the nose except for the intakes).

Some of the camo T-33s in Air Division carried tail art specific to the four fighter wings they were stationed at. The Snoopy art above denoted 2 Fighter Wing, at Grostenquin, France, while the "Joe BTFSPLK" character from Lil' Abner decorated the T-33s from 3 Wing, Zweibrücken, Germany. The penguin tail art featured previously in this thread was from 4 Fighter Wing, Baden-Söllingen, Germany.

The T-33 in the above photo has the later camo pattern style.

T-33s with 1 Fighter Wing, AFAIK did not have tail art while stationed at Marville, France, but later used the Warner Brothers roadrunner character after moving to Lahr, Germany.

Some more progress pics (nothing set in stone yet, all colours and markings still W.I.P):

While I'm going to make versions of these new ones for MSFS2024, I'm only going to release the 2020 versions until the canopy issue in 2024 gets fixed. Saves me getting a bunch of 2 out of 5 star ratings for "Your livery broke my T-33 model"...
