FS2004 Screenshots Here!!!

The closest I could get to Have Glass was a repaint for the Egyptian Air Force (done a really long time ago, 512 X 512). (y)

L'iguane, are you going to play around with the Alpha layers to make it look more glossy?

Still one of my favorite K.O. Viper repaints:

Lizard One from Hill AFB. :geek: I don't remember who did the actual repaint (Andy Nott from UK Mil?), I just changed all of the black paint to NATO/Charcoal Black.

Most of my K.O. Vipers have tinted canopies. "Gold Tint" looks great but its kind of inaccurate.
What I call "Brown Tint" is accurate but it doesn't show like it should in FS.

Lizard One was a real jet. It was used for weapons testing which is why the canopy isn't tinted.
It was a work mule.

@Sbob,
As for alpha channel, I never reached any satisfactory results for gloss effect on painted airframe (especially dark colors). I only got result I liked with bare metal or bright colors liveries.
What I can see from photos of the real have glass V, it seems to be reflective to ambiant light (especially brand new coating) but not glossy.
RAM coating are difficult to render in fs9 due to the sim limitation, I usually solve this by editing the .mdl file on MDLMAT (ambiant & speculiar). For unknown reason, I'm unable to do my usual stuff with Kirk Olsson model, it probably has something to do with the way he did his mdl.
I'll probably release it in a few day, you may try any alpha channel combination you like on it.

@ Airbasil
I saw your post but this livery would be impossible to reproduce accurately on VPA Rafale due to texture mapping limitations and mirroring of some parts (fin, canard), at least on the C single seater model. The B and Marine version are more refined (mirroring deleted) but it would still be tricky and beyond my skills. VPA 3D model is excellent in shape and is probably the most complex and difficult texture mapping I ever had to paint. That's why I sticked to overall grey scheme.

Not that long ago one of the more prominent members here, who is known for his fine scenery, mention he didn't have many biplanes installed. I feel pity for him as there are so many beautiful biplanes available for FS2004, from any period and from any country.

Nigel Richardson's AVRO Tutor by Nigel Richards. A definite must have! Available here in the library.

1791749970564.jpeg
The Polikarpov Po-2 by Igor Goncharov, Alexander Belov, SWingman and Kazachok. Another must have! There are several models of this aircraft but in my opinion this is the best one. Available at avsimrus.com

1791749992154.jpeg
The beautiful Camel by David Eckert (Also a must have). I don't know whether its available in the SOH library, but it can be found at simviation for sure. I did the repaint, can't remember whether I did upload it or not....

The Avia B-534 by Chris Lampard and Shessi. Available here in the library (Another must have uploaded by Shessi). The repaint one of those I did for this lovely model and all are available in the SOH library.

The Gloster Gladiator Mk.I by Dave Molyneaux with a repaint by Peter Watkins. Both are available are available in the library here. There is a reason why we preserve them, so go and get them!

1791750062110.jpeg
The Bücker 131 Jungmann by Oliver Fischer with a repaint by an unknown artist. The model is stunning and like the rest something you should really see. The model is avialable at simviation, but I think I found the repaint at Flightsim.com.

1791750079507.jpeg
The beautiful Ansaldo S.V.A.5 by my long lost friend Manuele Villa (mvg3d). A great model with the perfect "silk" textures, where Manuele was famous for. The model can be found on our library and like all models by Manuele is a certain must have.

1791750148526.jpeg
The long Island Christen Eagle II. The model is available at simviation like many repaints. I think this repaint was done by Chris Brisland, who normally uploaded his work at Flightsim.com. I don't know whether it is available anywhere else. No doubt you should have this model in your flightsim as well.

Yeah, that's the thing about "Have Glass". It just looks a little odd, especially when its fresh paint.
Really looking forward to this upload. :wiggle: I have some ideas for the Alpha channels, like you said- Kirk used some witchcraft when he built the MDLs. I think a lot of the Viper started out as BGLs. That was the first freeware FS upload that had a realistic VC and two sided cockpit glass.

Huub, please give us the names of the aircraft?
Many of us are not sure what they are.

I have added the names of the model, their makers and the place where to find them in the original post.

And remember these are just a handful of the amazing models the community has given to us, as there are many, many more. And all models in the images above, are freeware! So there is absolutely no reason why you should not have them.

Cheers,
Huub

@huub vink

Your screenshots make me hard to believe it is FS2004!!! Amazing screenshots!!!

Its the combination of the right addons which makes the Screenshots look as good as FSX or even sometimes as P3D…

Sometimes even in my Sim. Most of my Addons happen to be payware… only few real Freeware addons implemented to my Sim. Since they can kill your sim if you upload to much Freeware stuff to your sim, i hardly learned. Payed the Price lots of times…

Much appreciated, Huub.. Thanks.

And while I'm on the subject of biplanes, here a small addition, without repeating an aircraft or developer.

1791825340802.jpeg

The Boeing-Stearman model 75 cropduster/sprayer by Robert Sanderson. An amazing model with a revolutionairy animation. The shirt of pilot really moves in the wind! Available here in the SOH library.

1791825649230.jpeg
The Waco CTO Taperwing from the 1929 Taperwing collection by Golden Age Simulations. FS2004 freeware and available in the SOH library.

1791825843942.jpeg
The Bristol Fighter by Robert Bruce. Another stunning model. As the FS2004 version wasn't available somewhere else I uploaded it in our SOH library, after Robert Bruce became silent.

@Aharon and @Hageneezz The main outline can be found here : https://sim-outhouse.org/sohforums/threads/how-to-get-fs9-nearly-perfect.118230/

But never stop modding you sim and make sure to make backups. I know I use different water textures and the textures for my trees came from Golden Wings by Lynn and Bill Lyons for instance.

Don't use endless visibility, but limit it below 32k, or even 16k. And a screenshot is like a shot with a real camera, make sure light is correct and that you subject is the main thing on the image.

Cheers,
Huub
