I had some idea's and Dwight had some ideas on how to make that MFD run way faster and increase frame rates, so he dug into the code and worked away. Reducing the refresh rate was one great direction. Another was making a 'sleep mode' that turned off all Map rendering. Lastly was DeClutter, reducing map elements down to just airports. Really helps out alot.

Hey Alex,

Roger that. You'll need to contact Parts department at Quest Aircraft in Sandpoint Idaho. They should be able to 'email' you the parts in quick order.

Someone else said they broke a landing gear on a rough landing in the sim but as much as I abused it, I never did.. I must have that setting off. I will recheck the settings and make sure its able to do proper 'rough' landings.

I might have to do a recall.. :faint:

If you are saying that you want 'high resolution', it should already be there. I have a 'Performance Pack' that brings all textures down to standards so that slower computers can run them easier. Otherwise, the planes ship with 2048's on the fuselage, bump maps, and primary 'important' textures.

I can produce a 'Ultra High Rez' package though for the panels. That is totally possible and easy to do. All original Master PSD files are already 2048 size. Let me know and I'll create some for you.

Hey VCN-1,

Yes, there is a paintkit that will be out. (In a short while actually, I am reducing the file size on it).

For some good scenery in Alaska, try Bill Lyons and Tom Constantines 'McCarthy' scenery pack from AVSIM. Brilliant airfields. They are slightly dated, but still one of my faves. The cabins, cars, static planes, buildings, airstrips are just too cool.

Also, the 4 airstrips are all close to each other, about 5 to 10 min's flying time at full speed, 20 if you are low and slow. One airstrip is by a small lake.

pai mei is from kill bill vol 2. i lifted the following from IMDB for a little background:

The character Pai Mei appears in several Shaw Bros Kung Fu films from the 1970s-80s including Hong Wending san po bai lian jiao (1980) (Clan of the White Lotus). Pai Mei means "White Eyebrow". Ironically, Gordon Liu (Chia Hui Liu), who stars as Pai Mei in this film, starred as the protagonist in Clan of the White Lotus and fought Pat Mei/Bak Mei (played by legendary Shaw Brothers studio actor Lo Lieh).

The Character Pai Mei is based on Pak Mei, the originator of the "White Eyebrow" kung fu technique. According to legend, Pak Mei was one of the few masters left following the decimation of the Buddhist temples, and later sold out other masters to save himself and his team during an attack they had mounted that subsequently went wrong. For this reason, Pak Mei Kung Fu has always been known as the "forbidden technique," and Pak Mei himself has been a villainous figure in Chinese folklore and film for hundreds of years.

Lionheart, I liked the fs9, but I love this plane:jump::applause: just beautiful

my flaps swith does not move in either float or wheel
and is the float version to have a wheel up / down gauge so one knows if and the rudders are up or down?

Hey Doublecool,

hmmm.... I didnt think about that. Well I did, but didnt wish to put gauges on the panel that would only be for the float plane. But... What I could do is put some 'Attention' notification strings (digital font) on the PFD that would say something like 'Attention, water rudder down', or 'Attention, amphibian gear down'.

I'll make note to add that to the next update. Thanks for the feedback on that.

But I must say, there will also not be a lever or switch for the landing gear on the Amphibian. I decided not to do that.

Bob,

Go to the Flight1 website, email them for your purchase numbers on all download purchases. Their computer emmediately emails you back with a list of purchases and their numbers. Send me that number and you are good to go.

Bill, just purchased thru Simmarket and have a couple of questions before i try to install again. I get a notice about "write protected files, do I want to overwrite" any idea on this? I don't have the FS9 version so can't possible figure out what it wants to over write.
I also get the option to choose between FS9 and FSX, kinda odd since I thought this was just for FSX, any info is appreciated since I'm dying to check it out..

EDIT never mind, installed to a temp folder and figured it out (font).

first flight, very cool with some neat features,. definitely need a dirty/worn paint, LOL. great job Bill!
 
Wow! After months of struggling to get into my short strips in the Idaho river valleys using the fs9 Kodiak, the FSX version is a welcome relief. It feels 'heavier,' which is great for making those quick drops to final. Feels more like a STOL bird and looks better all around.

Ahhh.. So its the font that is freaking out vista. Good to know. You evidently already had it.
