FS2004 US Navy Blue Angels Lockheed VC-121J, shown in livery before the Connie left service with the Blue Angels flight demonstration team. Delivered to United States Navy with cn 4124 on June 23, 1953, in 1962 redesignated C-121J. Acquired by the "Blue Angels" in 1968 and modified to VC-121J version providing transportation and logistical support for the Blue Angels team. On December 21, 1970 withdrawn from use and stored at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, in December 1972. On February 10, 1978 bought by Consolidated Aeronautics and unfortunately broken up. Original by Manfred Jahn & Co. Repainted by Hans Hermann, Virtual Birds Factory.

Hi Mike,

That's a fabulous screenie. In real life that combination must have given quite a sight and sound.
The F-102A by the way evokes memories of my youth. We lived in the town of Amersfoort (Netherlands), only a few miles from Soesterberg AFB (Netherlands) where 32TFS was based. When we moved from Amsterdam to Amersfoort in the Summer of 1959 -granda's talking - the Delta Dagger (F-102A and a few TF-102A's had only just been based there and were to stay till the late 1960s, when they were succeeded by the F-4E.

I was at the air museum at the shuttered Chanute AFB last weekend. They had one of these outside the hanger. The information board said this plane was active into the early 90s. Here is a picture I took of it.

Just found the info on the plane I took a picture of. It's last flight was in 1983. It was delivered to the Navy in 1956.
