Having my personal FS-Weekend today!!!:applause:

I have the same problem, just keep the throttle low and prop-pitch below 85%, reduce the mixture, also below 85 and less in flight. With a bit of practise and easy going the red lights and the smoke will keep away (most of the time that is:icon_lol:)

David, this baby does not have cowl flaps. You need to keep her under 2300RPM and 32"MAP.

It's all in the manual. I know as I blew several engines during beta testing, before a manual was produced.

Add Shockwave landing lights

papab try this:

light.7 = 5, 18.50, -1.0, 1.5, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow
light.8 = 6, 18.50, 1.0, 1.5, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow

and add this to your [Vcockpit01]:

gauge32=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

Nice plane. Great job on her.
Question on something I saw. When you open the main door,
I see an arrow type thingie sliding from left to right across the windscreen and stops in front of the captain's window. What is that? A UFO?? LOL
It goes back the way it came when closing the door.

Here's the red and green nav lights:

Could not get the strobe wing tip lights to work? I can replace the Becon light but can't shut their's off so that may be a little use.

I seemed to keep the engines running properly and used the popup panel to fly empty before taking off in somewhat rough weather.

I forgot something, I think, while landing. Nice modeling, nice sounds, but not sounding and feeling like a proper landing while in the VC.

Glad to support a good cause in aviation history. I'll be in ground school reading checklists and manual.
 
Yes she does settle in nicely with the gear up, albeit with some wear to the props and engines.

As to the engine Cylinder head temps (which is what triggers the red lights), there are three things which control the CHT in our aircraft, airspeed (a little); mixture (some) and RPM (a lot). we are somewhat stuck for the moment with the way FS computes CHT which is not optimal. So... The main thing is to pull the RPM's back after takeoff and not advance them till short final. In Cruise, the mixture can be optimized at altitude by watching the CHT. best power being provided near peak EGT. However note that in climb one must remain somewhat rich of peak EGT for cooling.
