B-17 Accusim Released!!!

Along with all that ... Which btw, the previous poster's comments were included in his quote and is why they don't show as something different ...

If these aircraft have seen active combat service and as a rule 100 percent of them have, then what's really missing and needed, would be replacement patches of aluminum over the previous missions battle damages.

Odd bits of squares and rectangles that would have been scavenged from other aircraft that were scraped as too damaged to repair, yet made it back to base. Their exposure to the elements would have affected the pigment of the paint, etc ... or in some cases, bare metal patches. Or in some cases, complete panels were replaced if they thought they needed. (which is why sometimes we have paints depicting a mixed o.d. and bare metal aircraft ... entire wing sections were replaced.)

Of course each of these patches would come with their own series of bmp and rivets and the like too. ;)

My only reminder would be, that the leading edges of the wings can be weathered and chipped yes, as requested by "DVJ", but all of the black areas, which are deicers, are in reality, rubber, not metal, and of course wouldn't have any paint to chip on them - leading those areas to look 'less weathered' than other areas. That's not saying that they couldn't be dirty/scuffed up of course

Well of course the aircraft should be painted purple with yellow stars and a have a rainbow painted on the tail, but nevertheless nice work Jan Kees :d :d :d. Have a good trip!

JEEPERS JAN ! Its like stepping back into time ..... Its funny how we look at photos form WWII and try to compare , heck the weathered and patched up bombers , she looks superb . :salute:

Hi guys,

I have the non accusim version and have used some of Jankees repaints. The skins are showing darker than the default skins and some nonaccusim skins I have installed. Are Jankees skins darker, or is this a problem of using accusim paints on a non accusim model ?

There are different paint kits for each version,as the accusim also spruces up the look of the plane, & that will be what causes the darkness on the non accusim version.

Is there any way of getting the sharp textures of the accusim version on the non accusim model then ? I'm far too impatient to master the complex version, it takes me all my time to keep the Jug in the air !!!

It could the alpha layer that's different, you could try importing one from a non accusim paint to an accusim paint with DXTbmp.
As for mastering the accusim version shes a pussycat and you've always got the crew to offload some of the workload to.
 
Like D. Beans said, even with Accusim, you don't have to fiddle around with much to get 'er airborne. There's a button to autostart the engines if you want, and from there you can hand over engine management to your copilot and be in the air in no time. This is my favorite Accusim pack so far for just that reason; it's as complicated or as simple as you want it to be.
 
Has anyone had driver crashes when trying to open the accusim menu, when I press shift 4 a black box appears where the accusim menu should be and my computer crashes, just wondered if anyone else has had this problem?
 
Having already got the FSC and A2A B17, I can't really justify to myself buying a third one, although passing the management over does seem nice. I've heard of alpha chanels, but wouldn't have a clue what they are :redface:
 
Do you guys know that this aircraft floats and is an amphib lol!
Well I cut my engines and tried a belly landing in the sea just to see what would happen and low and behold it floats, then when I powered up the engines it took back off again and yes I did have crash detection and Accusim on too with the light fuel setting! Give it a try!

..and there we are again!
Just had a wonderful trip through the Ardennes and Eifel with a busload of students, looking at some very nice rocks indeed.
But you don't want to hear about my trip, you want to see aircraft.
So, more dirt on the logo's, more paintchipping on the leading edge of the wing, dirt on the wheels, and of course you all noticed that there were far too many missions markers on the aircraft. Combined with a few other odds and ends, this is where I am now:

Wauw..... . Seems like I have to pull my CC this weekend for the B17 after all. Looks amazing, Jan Kees.
