If these aircraft have seen active combat service and as a rule 100 percent of them have, then what's really missing and needed, would be replacement patches of aluminum over the previous missions battle damages.
Odd bits of squares and rectangles that would have been scavenged from other aircraft that were scraped as too damaged to repair, yet made it back to base. Their exposure to the elements would have affected the pigment of the paint, etc ... or in some cases, bare metal patches. Or in some cases, complete panels were replaced if they thought they needed. (which is why sometimes we have paints depicting a mixed o.d. and bare metal aircraft ... entire wing sections were replaced.)
Of course each of these patches would come with their own series of bmp and rivets and the like too.
