I saw it about a month ago Ickie, and I absolutely LOVED every minute of it!

Today, we went to see the new "Predators" movie, with Adrian Brody and Laurence Fishburne.
For those of you, who were fans of the original "Predator" with Schwarzenegger (1987), then you will be happy to know, that the 2010 one, gets us closer to the original. No more Alien vs. Predator. It is strictly about Predators this time.
I gave it two thumbs up! I enjoyed it a lot!

Please don't let the fact its a 'cartoon' stray you away from it.
It's a Pixar Animation movie, and really made for adults.
Quite good, and very touching at times.

I still have plenty of vacation time left and many more on my list... Not much else to do in AZ when it's 106 outside. Might as well stay inside and enjoy the air conditioning and watch movies and flight sim... :d
 
we don't do television, we only dvds on our tele. we also do avi and divx on the computer.
recently we saw the new karate kid movie with jackie chan at the theater, and at home we recently watched kick ass, charles bronson in death wish, my sassy girl (the original korean version, not the crappy hollywood remake) and zebra man, just to name a few.

Just watched "Airplane" again today, that movie still makes me howl...

A couple weeks ago we dumped our cable TV and signed up for a 30 day free trial of Netflix. We watch movies on our puters and on our 42 HDTV through the Wii. Deb and I have watched over 100 movies/documentaries since starting Netflix. Lots and lots of good stuff.

We have watched documentaries on Tornadoes, Dolphins, Coral Reefs, Deep Ocean volcanoes.

Movies: Jaws 1, 2 and 3, UP, Fried Green Tomatoes, Soldiers and Saints (just finished watching that one), Miracle at Santa Anna, Diary of Ann Frank, The Hiding Place, Christine, Seven Pounds (a very good movie with Will Smith), Grumpy Old Men, Oh God (while watching this one, we realized that Glenn, our landlord, looks a lot like George Burns...and about the same age that George was when he made this movie...83), Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Iron Giant (one of my favorite animated features...love it), and so on and so forth.

We had Avatar mailed to use on CD through Netflix. Visually stunning movie, but we both felt that the story line was rather old and worn out. Still good enough to watch the movie 3 times before mailing it back. Friday we got The Blind Side in the mail....going to watch it tomorrow night with pizza (one of the local shops has a coupon...buy one at regular price, get one of equal or lesser value free....I'm getting a medium with chicken, Italian sausage and portabella mushrooms...not sure what Deb will get).

We don't miss cable one bit.

Watched The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean from Netflix last week. Not one of the movies that come to mind when you think of Paul Newman but it's pretty good. Worth watching just to see a very young and very cute Victoria Principal as the Mexican girl who lives with Judge Bean.

I think you two will love that movie. Outstanding. Whats wild is that its a true story. At the end, they show pictures of the real people. Big Mike...

I cant believe I didnt remember that one. Saw it a week or so ago. Really a tear jerker, lol... arrgh.
 
seen a huge load of movies through netflix streaming and DVDs in the past few months . i personally go most often for the indie movies , sci-fi and gore/horror . among the most memorable to me were :
- terrorists , a satire about people in a small town seeing terrorist activities everywhere
- altered , a very entertaining small budget horror movie by edouardo sanchez ( director of the pathetic blair witch project )
- alien autopsy , a mockumentary style movie about ray santilly and the making of his infamous roswell alien autopsy video
- 11:14 , a whole bunch of people have a truly weird and eventful evening until all their lives intersect at exactly 11:14PM
- dead snow , a hysterical horror comedy from norway about a group of friends whose weekend getaway is interrupted by nazi zombies
- malice in wonderland , and interesting take on alice in wonderland set in modern day london
- the second civil war , directed by joe dante , a satire about idaho closing its borders and and the events that follow as seen by a CNN-like news network . a great cast with among others james earl jones , dennis leary , phil hartman , bau bridges , joanna cassidy ...
- audition , it is from the truly sick mind of takashi miike before he did the insane "ichi the killer" or the hysterical "zebraman" .
 
Lionheart~ "Under the Tuscan Sun" is an awesome film. Whenever I see it on TV, I make it a point to watch it, regardless of which point it's at in the film. Same for "The GodFather", is just the type of movie that will get me to watch it no matter what.
Diane Lane and Sandra Oh are awesome in "Under the Tuscan Sun"! They make you want to move to Tuscany and renovate one of those beautiful old villas too!!! LOL!

I forgot that I watched "The Blind Side" a few days ago. I had it at home, from Netflix since May... Anywho, the movie is definitely a "feel good" movie. I was so proud of Michael Oher! Sandra Bullock delivered an outstanding performance as Leigh Anne Tuohy.

Ladys who will sit through SciFi, and horrer movies are few and far between. Good for you for being one of the few. TCM ran "Five Million Years to Earth" the other day, rather dated but I still liked it.

Strega~ Interesting choice of films you have there. I'm unfamiliar with most of them though..


I would be curious to see "Malice in Wonderland" and "11:14"- I will look for them on Netflix.

If you liked Under the Tuscan Sun that I greatly suggest A Good Year; one of Russell Crowe's least known but best movies.

Agreed Chris! Both hubby and I really enjoyed it! It was my first time seeing Adrian Brody in action and I liked him. I had heard of him, but never really had seen any of his movies. He did a good job in this one.
