Aerosoft's AirbusX released!

Sounds good. Looking forward to the enhancements, Bjoern.:salute:

Don't know when I'll be ready though.

The more I read up on the 306, the more I want to program. And Thomas would give me the source files to enhance the modeled parts of the VC after I've mentioned to him what I was doing and...AAAARGH, I don't even love this plane but I can't stop programming and changing stuff! xP :d

Hi Jankees (and anyone else who owns it)

The screenshots make it look as good as a Captain Sim product - is it?

IMHO nothing can beat a CS modern or vintage jetliner when it comes to modeling/texturing but this Aerosoft A320 model can proudly stand in its shadow. If you have Stefan Hoffman's magnificent Hughes H-1 racer (or Catalina) you know what you get with his A320 model.Although the difference between aircraft types couldn't be any bigger, it deffinately has the Hoffman touch. ( big fan here ! )

Haven't found the time to actually 'fly it' but the looks, both inside and out, certainly are the bees knees ! :applause:

cheers,
jan

Ive bought it -as the cessna 310 has not appeared yet!

Im a big fan of all the Capt sim range but I have to say ths is up there with them.

The VC textures give you a real feel of being in a modern cockpit and FPS is better than some of cap sims on my old PC.

The night lighting is also superb (perhaps not quite equal to the new Capt Sim 707) but very atmospheric. :jump:

I bought the Airbus X as well. It's a great add-on! Very pleased with my purchase. There are definitely some things I am not a fan of, but overall it is very good.

I am still iffy on the nose shape though. Anybody elses thoughts on this? I'm no shape expert when it comes to Airbuses. lol

Great shots Nick.

It was Jan's EasyJet paint that made me weaken and buy it :salute:

can someone give me the specfics on this plane...runway length minimums ( for takeoff/landing),max range( klm or miles)speed (knots or mph)max cieling feet

How are framerates with this bird? I am worried because not only is it an airliner (which tend to have worse framerates in my experience), but it is also an Aerosoft bird and they aren't exactly known to optimize their plane well.

Hi

I get no hit on FPS which is rare for my old PC. It runs as well as captain sim products for me.

It has better framerates than every other add-on I have purchased. No joke.

So I have to pay for that even if I don't want it? That's stupid.

false that mean that they bring out a "own version" for Virtual Airlines like they did for FS Flightkeeper

means if the CEO of the Virtual Airline arranged with Aerosoft all members of the VA get it for lower price

and yep some Virtual Airlines acts like a club with membership fees

Best Regards
Tom

I'm not even sure the Airbus X would be a viable choice for Virtual Airlines. You can't manually enter in/delete SIDs/STARs on the fly, can you? I create FPs in FSC so I am not sure.

It looks great, but it is a little restrictive in my book.

It takes me almost as long to set up for a virtual airline flight as the PMDG MD11X, with all its quirks...

Once I have found the necessary charts and plugged in all the additional waypoints for SIDs and STARs, even if I cut down on the number... there is no depiction of runway or extended runway centreline, though the entire Navigraph database is allegedly available (and they use the same database as is in the Cheyenne, whose Trimble GPS supports SIDs and STARs...)
It uses to a large extent the default fly-by-wire of the MS A321, no custom made system there, there is no animation or real control of the trimmable horizontal stabiliser... autobraking doesn't seem to work as it should, poor climb and cruise performance in managed mode... Just a few of the issues I have personally, some of which are being looked into for service pack inclusion

The AirbusX is beautifully modelled. It does go from A to B (though it is best to do so in selected and not managed mode, Airbus speak no doubt). I feel it has been restricted too much in the name of making it more accessible to a wider audience. Knowing what I know now, I would have held off buying and watched the forum closely to see how the patch policy develops. I see certain similarities with Airsimmer in FS9 here...

I wish Aerosoft all the best in getting the best out of the AirbusX. They have bitten off a lot to chew, and the Airbus has a real jinx history in FS.

I have uninstalled it for the time being. It is not unflyable, but in its present set up, it is too unpredictable and there are too many big and little bugs (like the pip pip pip triple click being associated with autothrust disconnect, and the inability to set autobrake MAX until after the takeoff roll has started, to guarantee it not going off again when/if you hit the brakes during taxi...)

Jan, those are STUNNING repaints you have done there. It really does look good...

Andrew
