Ok. I'm impressed. Downloaded the scenery package and installed it and the AI, and it looks beautiful on my setup. Fired up my P-38, took off and flew a few circuits, and came in for a nice smooth landing without embarrasing myself in front of the crowds. This is just one super package. Thanks, ACG.

This is absolute class. Growing up just down the road in St. Ives, Duxford has been a special place since childhood. Just went back there in April, and when I saw this scenery, I had to do a double-take. It's flipping fantastic- off to d/l now. Cracking screens everyone.
 
Why does not pull up the wheels of the B-17?

Although I am a Londoner born & bred, I have similar feelings about Duxford; childhood summers were spent with a family friend who lived in the St Ives area - which meant, of course, during the summer of '68, the skies were full of the sound of Merlins as they filmed the Battle of Britian overhead. Towards the end of that summer the film producers had an 'open day' for the local community, so I got to visit a Duxford full to bursting with the real stars of that film, the wonderful aircraft.

More recently, for a period during the 1980s-90s, I lived in the (rather odd) city of Peterborough which meant I was well located for frequent trips to Duxford (and Old Warden) - one of the few advantages of living there!! :icon_lol:
 
I just don't know what to say.....I am well so so impressed by this package. The attention to detail is superb - the V1, the work on the Herald, the working simulator, its just well wonderful. I've only spent an hour or two with it today, so I'm sure to find something new on every visit. Will take a stroll to find Blenheim palace tomorrow!!!

Having been lucky enough to have flown in and out of Duxford on a number of occasions - Rapide, DC-3, Harvard, Avenger, T-28 and Mustang before, its so well done and brings back a lot of memories (some expensive!!).

I used to pre-beta test the Austers from the Isle of Lundy, so after installing my VFR scenery and local autogen, all testing will now be from this airfield. Scenery is a lot more interesting and mixing with the arrivals and departures should keep me on my toes.

Zsolt, it does... it's flying a circuit, so the wheels come down soon again, on downwind.
The place is full of Mk XVI's eh? Nice pics.

This is a real gem; I confess to having donned my Anorak, and just watched the AI come and go, just like an open day...

So, for us Yanks that do not know, who built the Tucano T1? I tried Embraer and Belfast and neither of those were correct.

If you ever do get across the pond, plan out a series of museum targets to visit in the UK - it will be highly worth it. Duxford of course should be on the list, but also the Midland Air Museum, Newark Air Museum, IWM London, Fleet Air Arm Museum to name but a handful. I know my family puts up with at least one museum visit minimum each time we venture back...;)

One to add to that list Steve; with an absolutely unique set of aircraft, the truly exquisite Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden.
