SOH Team Project - Grumman Tracker, Trader, Tracer

Steve,

Keep up the early colourful paints. At present Mil and Navy Avn is grey, grey, grey, with the only variation being clean grey or dirty grey. Some of the United States Navy colour schemes from the late fifties to the late sixties are outstanding.

Many thanks for all of your works so far. Much appreciated and much flown.

Watching Milton and his team producing the recent G7 project has given me a humbling insight into the sheer personal committment and skills of you guys. My sincere thanks to you all.

Mal

Thanks very much Mal. Point taken and very much agree. Love the USN gray over white schemes.

Steve

Two WIPs, VS-22 USS Wasp 1971 and VS-29 USS Kearsarge 1969. Hope to upload soon!

UUUUUUUUUUUUUU! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

Steve

Hey Duckie, You know you could do three different squadrons with this scheme. VS-71(Red), VS-72(Yellow) and VS-73(Blue). All three were part of CVSGR-70. I found a few pics in the Hall Park Warpaint book on the Stoof. If you don't have the book, I can scan the pics for you!

Dave

Hey Dave, 73 (Blue) is definately on the menu but haven't been able to find any of 72's birds on the web. I'll take you up on the offer of a scan of a 72 bird. Also, Dave, the emblem (sq. patch) on the side of the VS-71 S-2 I'm doing at the moment, you wouldn't happen to have or know where I might find a good enough shot of it so I could make one would you? Otherwise I'll just change the tail number to one without. But anything to add character to the subject is always good.

I'll PM my e-mail to you. Thanks very much for the offer of the scan.

Attention S2F Repainters!

Two WIPs, VS-22 USS Wasp 1971 and VS-29 USS Kearsarge 1969. Hope to upload soon!

A suggestion for P3AEWGuy (and all Stoof painters, as well) to add even more realism to the fantastic S2F skins.

I made an observation to Milton regarding the "piano hinge" visible on the starboard side of the Beta S2F, namely that it should be removed. Milton stated that it was painted, not modeled, and that he would so-advise Snurdley (who had painted the Beta).

The origin of the starboard piano hinge dates to the very early S2F when Milton initially used a full-width weapons bay before realizing the Stoof has only a half-width bay. So if you have not as yet released your repaint....

Don't forget that the early version(s) of the Stoof came along in time to wear that very attractive overall glossy Sea Blue livery of the early-mid fifties.

VS-22 and VS-29 repaints

Hey Guys,

Just uploaded these two repaints. Thanks to Hawkeye52 for the heads up on the "Dual" bomb bays, I corrected my paint kit and these repaints. Enjoy!

Cargo Civvie Unit

Over in the Cargo Haulers thread, I posted some shots of the new stripped out C-1A for civil duties set up as a cargo unit.

The paint kit is the same ... C-1A, and the beta base unit is available for anyone who wants to do some textures using this model.

Speak up if interested in doing a paint scheme and I will send you the download link.

Thanks

Worn, torn and weathered

First I just love the model so a great big thank you!!!

Second I made a weathered paint of the C1 livery, complete with the peeled paint :) I can upload them if anyone is interested in them :)

scrappy C1

Unzip the content so you have a texture.private folder under your C1A folder. I use the following config text in the aircraft.cfg file:

[fltsim.x] //replace x with next numer inline.
title=C1A Private
sim=C1A
panel=
model=C1A
sound=
texture=private
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id_enable=1
atc_id=SE-AND
ui_manufacturer=Grumman
ui_type=C1A-SOH
ui_variation=SE-AND
visual_damage=1
Description=C1A Model by Milton Shupe, flight model by Tom Falley, textures by Anders Samuelsson
atc_heavy=0
atc_airline=Military
atc_flight_number=
atc_id_color=0x00000000
atc_id_font=Verdana,-11,1,600,0
[General]
atc_type=GRUMMAN
atc_model=
performance=FS2004 FM 2011
Category=airplane

You also need to copy the rest of the texture files from one of the other C1A texture folders, I have only included the ones I've modified.
