Piper Pacer Super Pack, releasing!

Thanks for the help. I didn't articulate myself terribly clearly. I get the process, though. I've already tried the A2A Cub and the Carenado C172 (which has the same engine). The C172 was an improvement, but I hated the flap sounds. Might look into changing those as Bill suggests. But, reading earlier in the thread, I saw Bill's suggestion about the Mooney. I don't know if the default Mooney has an O-320 or the correct O-360, but it sounds MUCH better to me, and so I have just aliased all the versions to it. I might get and try the TSS C172 sound set though. It's the correct engine, and the video on it sounds nice. This nice bird deserves a nice soundset.

On the issue of starter switch, that is odd. I believe the poster above was meaning to test it in SP2/Acceleration, since that is the latest and should be default version of FSX. Several of us who fly together have bought this plane and the starter switch doesn't work for any of us. We're all flying Acceleration I believe.

Thanks Griphos for the info.

I just heard that some people have had problems with the starter when the mixture is set to zero (all the way out). The Pacer accidentally has 'auto tune' which makes the mixture not required to be set.

But, my thoughts are, there might be something here that is causing this.

Can someone go into their aircraft.cfg file and change the line fuel_air_auto_mixture=1 to be '0' zero instead, then reboot the plane and try a startup?

Just tried that. No go. Still canna click it.

On the sound, I'm using the Sibwings Birddog sound set, except for the flaps sound, which remains the Maule's mechanical "Click".

Yeah, that didn't work. Although it's nice for the mixture to work now. I'd noticed that it wasn't working on my earlier flights.

Just a random thought here, but, of those who are having the ignition switch issue, what happens when you move the mouse cursor over the windshield? I've noticed that clicking on the windshield activates the "clean the window" feature, but in my plane the mouse cursor switches rapidly between an arrow and a hand cursor, and only when the cursor is a hand will the feature work. It's as if something is interfering with the "clickability" of the mouse when it's over the windshield. I have to click several times before I manage to click while the cursor is a hand before it will work. This doesn't happen when the cursor is over the instrument panel, however. This just got me to thinking about "overlapping click regions" or something. Like I know what the heck I'm talking about... :icon_lol: Still love the plane. I'm sure you're get it sorted out Bill!

Fixed!!!!!!!!!!

I rewired the switch to a different switch name and FSX accepts that. I will be compiling all the models (10 of them I think, in sets of two) and I'll update some other bits.

I was asked by a couple of people for a 'bush' panel in the Tri-Pacer, so I'll include that one as well. The auto-tune will be turned off for better functionality.

I'll post when the update is ready.

Thank you Lord!

Mine does the same thing.

Thanks Bill, I knew you would come up with something.

Yeah, I have that same phenomenon. Of course, it's easy to just click on the pink bottle. :)

Glad to hear it's fixed, Bill. Sure have been enjoying the plane.

Wow. this model totally took me by surprise. And the manual is wonderful.

A question. Can the canopy and guage reflections be reduced? A week bit strong IMO. And that's flying the bush model.

Hey DVJ,

If you were to take the clean version plexi in the main texture pack of one of the planes and go to the Alpha layer and darken it even more, so that its nearly pure black, which is 0,0,0, you will have the glass almost invisible.

Hi Bill,

Well I figured out that if I click the windshield, I get different glass reflection settings. I don't want invisible glass, but the reflections were really annoying. But the mouse click has reduced this quite a bit. This is such a cool aircraft sim. All the models will keep me busy for months I'm sure.

Oh Oh, is there a quick config fix to the becon on the Tri-Pacer? Red flashing on the top vs. the bottom becon. All other models look fine.

dvj

If you installed my shockwave light set, the beacon is located on the bottom where it is supposed to be. I based my mods on the tail dragger and just copied it over to all the variants. If you don't have the shockwave product, you can take the beacon light line from the tail dragger and update the tripacer to relocate the beacon.

Super support. Thank you!!!

Oh boy. Just spotted this thread. Looks like I'm going to be flying GA for a while while the A-4 gets sorted. I've always liked the Tri-Pacer ever since I read a book titled "Anyone Can Fly" by Jules Bergman. It was written back in the early 60's so it is very old school flying and when there were a fraction as many aircraft up there. A lot of the romance of flying has been lost but these old planes bring it back.
