Piper Pacer Super Pack, releasing!

Hello Bill & Folks,

Evertythings is a OK, thank you very much for your work/support.
This AC is excellent and i'm having a lot of fun.
CONGRATS:salute:
:icon29:

Great support Bill, but you didn't have to stay up all nite to do it.everything was fixed for me,but now the carb heat don't work on the bush plane, any one else have this?

FSX is refusing to run the Carb Heat, so that is going to have to be non-working for now. Sorry guys. It will not work for all 4 variants.

Fuel Selector and Ignition switch are now proper.

I thought (sware) I fixed the beacon light last night also, but didnt. sigh... I am redoing the compilers now for the updater and the purchase installer. Should be a few min's.

Bill

I do not see how you guys keep running and putting up with FSX. I ran it for the first time in months yesterday, doing this testing. I had weird, small colored squares in the aircraft selector, my mouse disappeared, turning into a neat purple big square, the sim kept blinking as though entirely reloading the sim several times when flying, clouds would turn into black squares. None of that in P3D. Crazy....

The hilarious part is that these parts codes are FSX format, so why arent they working in FSX. They work fine in P3D. ??

I think I've delayed P3D because of all the time it's going to take reloading or convering all my aircraft and FTX files. There needs to be some kind of file transfer utility to take files directly from FSX to P3D. This is a bit off topic, but if your products do run better in P3D, I need an easy way to move what I have over to it.

On the topic of the Pacer - it's a fantastic flyer in FSX. 40 FPS no probelm with full sliders in FTX PNW.

I'm not using P3D yet until I fully understand the EULA and pricing options. As it stands now there's some irregularities with the Academic version and I'm not sure if I can legally run that one. And there's tons of addons that have yet to be tested in P3D..... AND I've got FSX running like a champ!

I couldn't agree with you more Bill . The only thing that has held me back from completely taking FSX off the PC is some of the ORBX scenery installers that are being prepped with the Direct P3D installers . "Knock on wood !", I hav'nt had any problems with P3D and everything is running smoothly . I must admit , I had to put your Kodiac in the hanger for the last few days while I have been logging some serious hours on the Piper Pacer Super Pack A/C . I would like to add my congrats on a job well done !

There are two reasons. One I'm not going to pay fifty bucks I don't have for basicly the same thing I have , and I'm not going to lie to get an academic license like most are doing and my four year old i5 runs FSX fairly well with frames around twenty and pretty smooth with high settings.FSX is going to be the sim of the majority for a long time to come so I don't think developing for P3D should be a priority.

I have hundreds of dollars and way too much time invested in FSX and frankly...I'm nto about to support Lockheed Martin with its business practices. FSX till I'm done with simming.:salute: If that means I miss out on add-ons from a couple developers....so be it. I have my Mustangs, Sabres, and enough Cessnas to keep me very happy.

Wandering a bit off topic here, but I will say that I have NEVER seen any of the behavior you just described in FSX, Bill. Something wrong with your install?

Thanks for the quick work on the updates.

For all those simmers whose FSX is running smoothly , by all means , keep what you have . In my particular case , with the same PC I have now , it did not . That's the main reason I switched . I can now run much more smoothly without all the stutters and other miscellaneous errors I got in FSX . As far as Lockheed Martin's business practice's , I don't know and I really don't have a burning desire to find out . I don't particularly like Microsoft but I am going to continue to use their products .

Sorry , didn't mean get this , so off topic .

Hey guys,

Sorry to go off on FSX. My bad. Like Crusader said, if its running fine, no worries. It doesnt work for me, so I am with P3D. If its working great, why fix it? :)

All the keys are working right. This is good. For those that might be developers, check this out. I renamed the parts via mouserect and animation assignment from switch_ignition_magnetos0 to switch_ignition_magnetos. The magnetos0 is what I use for all of my planes, is the one for the Cesssna, etc, in FSX, but it wasnt working. Going without the zero made it mouse clickable. Next, it still wouldnt turn in FSX, but it was now showing a 'mouse' over it. I cleared its scale even though the scale crash wasnt occurring during exports. This caused the part to go crazy in FSX, but..... it was moving! So I went in and reanimated the key bits (key fob, its hanger piece, etc) and now it was all working fine.

On the fuel lever, I couldnt figure that one out weeks ago. It works fine up to 'right' tank, then will not move. I redid and reassigned everything and now it works awesome. I had mis-matched the 'mouse rectums' (mouse-rect assignments) on the coding for it. It was trying to move (mouserect) the FSX code, but the part was animated with my own personal code, so they had a mis-fusion thing.

I think there are 22 models total to export. Each plane variant with its own panel and landing gear have an interior and exterior model. 3 per main plane except the Tri, which has 2 (now). So 11 variants twice to export. I was only going to make ONE!!! lololol.... eeeks.

But, glad you all are enjoying them. Have fun. Fly the heck out of them. Remember the paint kits. Create your own paint schemes. There are some awesome examples online. Google, and also airliners.net for paint scheme examples. Hundreds! And experiment with interior patterns and ideas.

Here are some candidates I had been looking at for the package but decided not to go with as we already had quite a few.

The first three are gorgeous jewels, well restored and cared for. Show planes. The last one is a work horse that has seen some extreme environment conditions. I didnt feel I was capable of modelling all of the fading in the textures in it. There is a red that seems to either be under or on top, fading out.

Note that there is a 'zone' right around the A pillars that goes 'fuzzy' as its on the very edge of the curves of the mappings where they join. Its not a happy place for painting if you have fine stripes that blend right at the windscreen bottom line.
