Repaint for Piglet's A-12A Avenger II

Loving the repaints!

Just a thought though, the writing on the nose of the Swifts inspired one says MiG in Russian (not sure what the PCK bit says) not sure you want that along with the McDonnell Douglas logo!

I expected it might....it did come from a 29 afterall...;)

Now if someone could come up with correct text for 'Avenger team' or similar ....that wasn't a babelfish "my hovercrafts is full of jellied eels" then I'd be happy to alter it/them...;)

None of these are 'quite right'...

- Бей Фашистов - Kill the Fascists (literally - Strike the Fascists)

- Бей Фашистких Оккупантов - Kill the Fascist Occupiers

- Бей Гитлеровцев - Kill the Hitlerites

- Бей Фрицев - Kill the Fritzes (Fritz - generic Russian term for German soldiers, like Jerry or Boche)

- Смерть Оккупантам - Death to the Occupiers

- Смерть Фашистким Оккупантам - Death to the Fascist Occupiers

- За Родину - For the Motherland

- За Сталина - For Stalin

- За Коммунизм - For Communism

They all date to WW2 ...on tanks ...;)

Next one to upload should be this one....based off the Avro Vulcan graphics... 2 vers...one with half camo...and this one with 'full' ....though it's kinda odd why you'd have the pattern on the US ....unless you planned to land it inverted...;)

I think it happened after they moved to low level operations and it was found the light underside gave the position away when they banked the aircraft. They could probably have achieved the same result with a darker grey, although with a wrap round scheme there'll be no change in contrast etc. at all.

dvj .... I colour-picked those used from a photo....and as usual there can be issues with a photo's reproduction/print where balance is off. I've only ever seen one Vulcan in the flesh....it flew into Essendon [then Melbourne] Airport some-when around 1966 ....and wouldn't have been that colouring anyway...;)

I can get the whole skin more drab/dull/boring/authentic....it's skin layers are such that it'll be quick and easy...;)

If you post a preferred photo/colour here I'll match it....;)

I've got my 'paintkits' down to 96meg for the main and 65 for the trans .... possibly manageable as uploads for people to make use of.
Being PSDs of high res they're never going to be 'small'...;)
 
In the throes of the PaintKit uploads....they take a while....the site doesn't respond/refresh on completion so I leave it/them doing their thing for 'hours'.
This one's up....

It's the layered PSD at 4096x4096 res for the 'main' image. It's a 28meg zip of a 95 meg image with enough layers to get people creating.

This one's on its way 'up'....

It'll provide the general effects for gloss and/or metal finishes via the 'trans' layer. It's a 23meg zip of a 64 meg image.

I had done a web image search on Avro Vulcan. The green is much darker. Look at the recent flying restoration. :salute:

dvj....yes, but so had I .... hence the resulting version/s. The green ain't darker in all of them. Post a specific pic...and I'll match it....;)
