This archive contains files to create a model of the Boulton Paul Balliol RAF Trainer for FS9/FSXpo.
The UK Ministry of Defence issued a specification T14/47 for a two seat advanced trainer powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin 35. These were readily available from stocks left after the build up during the war.
Boulton Paul were asked to build four T2 Balliols. The first, VW897 flew on the 10th of July 1948 and was well- liked. A further 17 pre-production Balliols were ordered as it was announced that it would become the RAF's standard advanced trainer. A total of 170 were built before the RAF decided that in future Jets would be used as advanced trainers.
