CFS3 Mosquito NF.XIX VY-B
=========================
Aircraft folder: Mosquito_NFXIX
CFS3 type: RAF Mosquito night fighter, standalone package
Texture/code: VY-B, 85 Sqn RAF style, serial HK119
This package is a CFS3 Mosquito NF.XIX standalone derived from the existing Mosquito NF.XII/NF.XIII night-fighter work. It is intended as a practical CFS3 representation of the NF.XIX using the available bull-nose Mosquito night-fighter model and cockpit resources.
Installation
------------
Drop the Mosquito_NFXIX folder into your CFS3 aircraft folder. Delete any old Mosquito_NFXIX.bdp file if one is already present from an earlier test version, then allow CFS3 to rebuild it on first load.
Notes on this version
---------------------
- Repaint/code altered to VY-B.
- Standalone Aircraft.cfg, AIR and XDP identity files are included.
- The Aircraft.cfg uses the proven NF.XII/NF.XIII baseline piston-engine values, retained after testing because earlier NF.XIX power/altitude tuning produced low-speed/right-roll instability.
- The ShortName deliberately retains A.I.viii wording for compatibility with the external CFS3 radar utility. Do not change this unless you do not use that radar setup.
- The visual model remains the available bull-nose Mosquito night-fighter model rather than a fully new NF.XIX-specific model.
Flying note
-----------
The Mosquito night-fighter flight model does not like being dragged off too slowly. After liftoff, raise the gear promptly and keep the aircraft at about 140-150 mph IAS or better until established in the climb. Letting speed fall toward roughly 125 mph can produce a mush/roll tendency, especially at low altitude.
Credits
-------
Original Mosquito NF.XII/NF.XIII CFS3 aircraft and model family: Steve, aka sdsbolt/sdsnolt, with thanks to the original helpers and contributors.
Additional CFS3/TOW work, materials, effects, testing and/or package support: Bravo/4 and the wider TOW/CFS3 contributor group.
Flight model basis: Dan Walter / AvHistory, as credited in the Aircraft.cfg.
NF.XIX standalone adaptation, AIR/CFG/XDP edits, radar-compatibility notes and VY-B package preparation: James A. C. Allen / Mongoose, with ChatGPT assistance for checking and documentation.
This package is freeware for CFS3 use. Please retain the original credits if repainting, modifying or redistributing.
Known limitations
-----------------
- This is a practical CFS3 NF.XIX representation based on the available NF.XII/NF.XIII resources, not a newly built exact NF.XIX model.
- Some help files still originate from the NF.XIII package and are retained because they remain useful for flying the aircraft.
- No claim is made that VY-B/HK119 is a fully documented individual NF.XIX identity; treat it as a useful 85 Sqn-style coded aircraft unless you have confirming historical evidence.
