This package contains alternative textures for the FS2004 Spitfire PR.XI by Chris Lampard and Shessi. The textures show the Spitfire PL883 of 400 Sqn RCAF. There is a photograph taken on 30 November 1944 of this aircraft carefully taxiing over a flooded B78 Eindhoven AB in the Netherlands.
The invasion strips on the upper surfaces have been removed, but the picture shows the invasion stripes on the lower surfaces are still present. This aircraft was destroyed on the ground during the German operation Bodenplatte on 1 january 1945.
To use these textures you must have the Spitfire PR IX/XI package by Chris Lampard and Shessi installed. This package can be found in the libary at Sim-Outhouse.org. The main textures (SPXI_1.bmp, SPXI_2.bmp and SPXI_3.bmp) are done in 16-bits format, which should make them usable for the CFS2 version of this model as well.
I want to thank Chris Lampard and Shessi for this lovely model and Martin Wright for his great graphic tools which were used to turn my drawings in something which can be used in FS2004.
Enjoy,
Huub Vink
