Every time I look at the Cessna 195...I can't help but feel that I am looking at a hot rod aircraft...a flying version of a 49 Mercury with a chipped top, suicide doors and a channeled frame. So, since the 195 gets my hot rod blood boiling, I could not help but throw some hot rod inspired paint onto the 195 Shakey Jake. Still need to work some magic on the wings, polish/chrome the airelons, rudder and elevators for that late 50s style bling and redo the interior to match the exterior...but already this is one slick looking ride.
And Lawdog's sound pack for the Bristol Mercury radial sure gives this flying hot rod the sound she needs as she is cruising the skies of Bakersfield California...the place that many feel was the birthplace of the American hot rod culture.
OBIO
My next paint for this plane will be an attempt at a late 50s style rat rod...black oxide primer with gloss flames or stripes. May even throw the white walls onto it for good measure.
