A Lockheed "Rounder"

Yellow color.....

ok ignore the fact that it's canary yellow... rivetting has begun now i can get back to it full-time (ie, now i can hand over puppy watch to my parents :icon_lol:) :salute: also visible are the shadowing on the airframe, anything for that touch of depth :salute:

Something about this canary yellow actually appeals to me, it makes it look like a trainer or target tug (Yes, I know, slap me for refering it to a target tug, I deserve it). But irregardless, the modelling and pre-paint look marvelous.

PS, How are the pups doing?

yeah i kinda like this yellow it's not too vibrant as to send the eyes weird..... i'll be continuing it this afternoon, gotta take the pup and mom to the vet later for the obligatory checks, make sure both are doing fine etc... both seem to be fine, pups feeding as is the mom so yeah, going good, apart from the incessant 'mewing/squeaking' noise the pup makes...

front half rivets (These are location points till i make them the usual 3D Recessed slightly look) now on... gotta say even i can see it shaping up in my minds eye.... now onto the wings and nacelles before moving aft....

The Navy painted their target tugs yellow like that. I know they used some Marauders in that color. Who's to say that at the end of service that some old Harpoons weren't painted yellow and used as target tugs?

I've also seen a pic of a F7F Tigercat in Navy service painted yellow too.

I thought someone was working on...

I thought someone was working on that paint job for Milton's tigercat but I never saw it show up anywhere. There was a pic of it but I've lost track of it.

Really, a repaint of all but the F7F-1 would only be temporary, and even it can be improved upon. The mapping needs to be redone on all the variants and will be once the VC is completed.]

I had rushed the development of the models for the RTW race. Originally N2056 was going to do the VC and complete the project but he got involved with the P-61 before the F7F was available.

If he doesn't pick it up (and I hope he does) I will revisit it after my published list of projects get done.

ok time to get rear half topside rivets on... decided to do that instead of the wings and nacelles, they're next....

Well, some progress in the VC and interior model although I haven't worked on it for a few days. A few more items and I will map it for textures.

just started work on the Port nacelle.... still 2048*2048 textures at the moment, lots to do yet before i resize for FS9 and visually verify in sim....

Hey Matt, progress looks great. Thank you for investing the time to give it all the realism it deserves. :salute:

right, i'm now onto the wings.... starboard top is more or less there, onto the port and then undersides, then onto the tailplane/fin assembly, then the weathering and other details...

I do like the looks of the wing there Matt.

For those of us who do not paint, your walk-thru of the the process is enlightening.

Thanks

Loving the detailing on the wing surfaces... beautiful work :) Especially the texture you've put into the surface.

Btw, would love it if you left a set of textures as 2048 for those who use this gorgeous ship in fsx, would be a crime to crimp that detail down.
