A Lockheed "Rounder"

Loving the detailing on the wing surfaces... beautiful work :) Especially the texture you've put into the surface.

Btw, would love it if you left a set of textures as 2048 for those who use this gorgeous ship in fsx, would be a crime to crimp that detail down.

thanks, and yeah all my initial work will be done in 2048*2048, which'll stay at that res for FSX users and i'll then resize down to 1024*1024 for FS9, the interesting part is still to come... weathering.... :jump:

Sumptuous progress on VC/interior and texture work! :jump:

Cant wait to catch-up with you tearaways and jump in!

Good news is: Eureka! A full set of batteries from Friday am - so watch out Fishing buddies! :wiggle:

Excellent, I can do a good number on those base textures at that res...

As for weathering, (not that you need advice, but from my experience...) take it slow... its so so easy to go too far; less is always more, and going too far looks quite fake. hamsters don't like to ski, and think about windflow... some oil stains go two ways! ground, and flight. your work is lovely as it stands, its already far far better than some payware developers hand off as finished :p (granted not quite so yellow, but hey, sure makes things easier to see to work on)

Milton:

Will pass on a new FDE later today, with emphasis on low-med alt cruise power and speeds. I wish some of the engine powwer charts were more legible!

Aother classic in the making. An advantage over the Howard is the number of variants and paints possible!

Thank you Sir! :)

I sent a link to you for the Pilots Handbook that has clear, easy to read performance charts.

Maybe that will be helpful.

Rachael,

We always do 2048 base templates and preserve the size as even in FS9, artists usually prefer to work at 2048.

We will look forward to your contributions on the FSX side as well then. :)

just started to get a base level of weathering on... it's getting chipped up a small bit, gonna add some more on the prop line as though ice has flicked off and taken chips out the paint, once it's chipped i'll then go around the airframe in my paint hangar wearing my assault boots and liberally applying scuff marks to the thing...

well that'll do, i'm hitting the sack.... just really naces to beat up then spend the day adjusting layers for feel....

well thats 1 cowl roughly chipped, 1 to go, airframe is slightly scuffed... next weathering layer is streaking, but here's how she currently sits before starboard nacelle/cowl chipping...

As we sometimes say here in the American south.....

daaaaAAAAAmmmmmmmnnnnnn.........:icon_lol:

That is looking really good Matt

Ever notice how a plane just "looks" right? You stand there and look at it, and you just say, "huh, that ship will fly". This is such a plane. The fact that it has two engines, and two tails, and is made by Lockheed, has absolutely nothing to do with this assessment, of course. Nice work on the textures, Matt. She's looking beautiful. Can't wait to take her for a spin. Well, not a spin, mind you, but you get the idea.

You are right, of course, PRB. Matt is making it very hard for me to get the cockpit to match the quality of the exterior.

All I can do is rely on his interior textures to equal his exterior ones. :wiggle:

i'm still taking chips out the paing, just moved onto starboard nacelle/cowl hoping to start the streaking this evening (You'll also note the shadow on top where the 'pylon'ed pod' goes), but it'll be a couple of early nights for me, at RIAT from Friday (around midday) till Monday (Afternoon/Evening) so gotta top up my sleep levels (hard for someone who never seems to sleep :icon_lol:) anyways, here's the latest...

WOW! Nice work there, mate. The dark grey scheme adds a touch of "sinister" to the look of that plane too. (Although I know that's only temporary). What a battle wagon that plane is. Matt's rivets give it a sense of realism like no other. :medals:
