A Lockheed "Rounder"

Well, since you're asking; I'd like to see

1) fully loaded
2) guns, tanks, rocket rails w/o rockets
3) guns, no tanks, rocket rails w/o rockets
4) clean, no guns or stores

Is that too many options?

LOL NO! :) You can never have too many options. :)

I'm no big fan of rockets either. I'm with Moses although I would like to see a couple of torpedoes in the bomb bay :d. Anti-shipping is what the Harpoon is all about.

BTW, 3 of wbuchart's pics are of PV-1 Venturas.

Torpedoes are doable. Dropping them ... not what I want to do in FS9. Same with rockets. I can pull off the tanks I suppose.

Yes, the Ventura is strikingly different than the Harpoon in almost every conceivable way. But, I was interested as I have not seen those pictures before. Very interesting.

Heck, I didn't think of dropping them. Just thought it would be good to open the bomb bay doors and have some torpedoes in there. Might keep a Harpoon pilot from feeling nekkid without 'em.

LOL We would not want that, would we. :)

Firstly, congrats team on super progress...

Matt knows I'm as proud as punch re his texturing!
I can't wait to see it first-hand.

Milton's supreme modeling expertise goes without saying...well almost - it's more awesome with each new project he undertakes.

Weaponry etc?

Personally, I'm interested in the aircraft itself and not its armament.

I'll follow Willy's lead however in that torpedoes and tanks, due to their size and prominence definately lend something to the overall impression and visual character of an aircraft.
The Fairey Swordfish, for example, always appears incomplete to my eyes unless there's that hefty torpedo slung under her belly.

Matt, if you have the time available for extra versions of this excellent subject, it will most certainly be time well spent!

Regards to all,
Nigel :wavey:

My 2 cents worth:

1. Clean - No guns, rockets, tanks, or hard points

2. Patrol - guns and tanks

3. Guns only

Thanks for asking :salute:

Focus on the livery, not the model.....

BTW, 3 of wbuchart's pics are of PV-1 Venturas.

Yep Willy, some are Venturas but in my mind the liveries are still close enough for A PV-2 for flight simulator flying (but I do understand there is a difference in wings, load, etc. etc.).

There are currently (as far as I am aware) 4 Venturas currently being restored to flight status. Bet ya a cup of Starbucks one of them could possibly end up with a harpoon paint job.:icon_lol: :wavey:

Not to infer any bad vibes at all, but for me I tend to be a bit more free-spirited with fictional paint jobs, modelling, etc. Not a bad thing, not a good thing, just a thing.

EDIT there was supposed to be a smiley face nect to the cocus subject line.....bad on me.....

I use to be a purist... must be exact replica kind of thing, but now I like anything, as long as it in good taste! ;)

for a target tow plane i had a thought... keep the top turret... will allow you to train gunners, especially if you fly in formation with another one... just an odd thought i had just while having some down time flying formation.... if you fly 'line' (side-by-side) you both should have a good enough view of the target to stop you a) shooting each other and b)shooting your own tail :icon_lol:

still onto the yellow peril.... time to adjust the shadow part of the textures ready for a clean Harpoon....

I hear you all, I really do. :)

Here are the requested torpedoes.

I have segregated all the "add-ons" to a separate scene so I can merge in whatever I need to make the variants.
So, select from the menu items and export, cafeteria style.

Thanks Matt. I am regenerating all the variants now. Will send along later today as I have to bail out here to give a United Way presentation at 2PM. Likely after your bedtime hour.

I did send you a new miscparts bmp as I reshaped and elongated the wing tanks a bit.

ok shadows from armament removed on civvy textures... good to go fully on the Target Tugs/'Back country bombers' now :salute:

I did.....

alright.... who ordered the canary? :icon_lol:

And just let me say....."YA NAILED IT"! This is my current wallpaper now. Can't wait to get my hands on this puppy and fly it out of KEDW...

Virtual:icon29: to you

But if you ever make it around to Kentucky, I'll make it a real one (several, actually!)

Thank You, Matt!

Bill

just adding a few 'features' to make it stand out a bit more (well, i mean you ain't gonna miss it as it is when it's sat on the flightline are ya? :icon_lol: )

ok now i'm happy.... now it looks a bit better... just added some black protective leading edges (can also double as de-icing boots if needed/ you add a switch to your cockpits :icon_lol:)
