A Lockheed "Rounder"

Hi Milton,

unfortunately I still have not been able to meet up with Carl Scholl at Chino to get into their Harpoon. I was there twice and both times unfortunately he was stuck somewhere else on a parts mission.

Mean while however I happened to be near the WPAFB in Dayton, actually 3 hours away, and they happen to have a nice Lodestar on display outside. I took about 30 or so pictures that I hope will be helpful in creating yet another Masterpiece.
I will still try to get into the Harpoon and Lodestar at Chino to get interior shots....

But here is a link to the exterior of the C-60A in Ohio.

p.s. I also took a bunch of pictures of the YC-125B ..... just in case you have too much spare time :)

Stefan,

Thank you very much ... great reference shots. :applause:

Everything is close to being locked in on the Harpoon so I would not worry to much about those pictures. In a week or so, the modeling and mapping will be done and the focus will be on sounds, panel, gauges and textures. Once textures have started (like on the exterior) I rarely make changes.

If you would hang on to these pictures until I get to the Lodestar, or send them along to my email, that would be great. Your website will not allow me to right click and save, although I can get screen captures if necessary.

Thanks again. :) :applause:

Hi Milton,

I apologize that it did not work out on the interior shots, for the Harpoon at least. There is a Lodestar at Chino as well, maybe timing will be better for that one.
I took the pictures at the largest resolution my IPhone allowed so I will need to pack them up some to e-mail.

Cheers
Stefan

No problem Stefan; I appreciate your efforts. :)

Meanwhile back in the VC, still grinding out mapping for the smaller parts and making some headway.

Still lots to do especially the more detailed mapping for Matt's part. :)

Something about that cockpit is really appealing to me. It has depth and "busy-ness" that I like. Ditto what Moses03 said!

oh yes, looking good!

Milton, i'll be on and off for a short while while other projects are worked on but rest assured i'll be getting back to Harpoon full-time once the boards are cleared :salute:

Very Nice work on the cockpit, Milton. :medals: I watched a short viddie on the Harpoon where a couple blokes climbed in to the "office" and the camera was set just behind them. The panel and gauges looked pretty much the same and there was alot of "switch flipping", "lever pushing" and "yoke turning" by these two fellows just to get the plane's engines lit, get it taxied onto the runway, get it rolling and finally airborne.

One could only imagine the work involved in not only managing the airplane in flight, but managing the airplane in combat as well. :isadizzy: Looking forward to flying this one.

Hi Milton,

even zipped up the series was still 88 MB. I did not know if you had any limitations on your mailbox and did not want to fill it up with these if they are not relevant for the moment.
So I uploaded the zip to Mediafire where you can download the set at your convenience.

If you want the YC-125 as well let me know and I'll do the same.

Stefan,

I would like the YC-125 pics if you're willing. Thanks!

Dave

Downloaded; thank you Stefan :jump:

One more change to make before mapping the cockpit details for Matt.

Then if I can awake Nigel from his deep sleep, maybe we can get the sounds ready as well. :)

Milton i spoke to Nigels daughter about him earlier, Nigels not too well at present... as his Daughter told me they've got to take him to see a specialist... could be a week or more before we see him back, but i'll keep you posted on the latest :salute:

Oh no! That explains why it is so quiet. Missing his wit. I hope it isn't something serious and that he'll make a good recovery.

Cheers,
Maarten
