Alabeo`s Staggerwing is out!

As has been stated many times before, the aircraft in your default flight should be a default FsX plane. Then when you switch to an non-default one all should be well.

OK. Default flight is with default C172. Changed aircraft while in the parking space. However it made no difference. Did not seem to have the flap and gear issue in P3D. Lionheart is cheering right now. Shut off Accufeel in FSX for this aircraft, no difference.

Did you have the battery switched ON before changing to the D17 ?
If that doesn't help try changing the electrics from 0 to 1 in the cfg file.
[electrical]
max_battery_voltage = 24
generator_alternator_voltage = 28
max_generator_alternator_amps = 60
electric_always_available = 0

A question

The Staggerwing is definitely beautiful to look at (just as the full scale is). Could someone who enjoys flying sim aircraft from the inside, please post a screen shot looking forward from the pilot's view, the standard view from which you would fly the thing??

thanks

That's how it looks from the pilot's seat :)

What's up next? Maybe a DC-3 or a Stearman? :mixedsmi: :icon_lol:

Greetings

Trying to purchase this baby, but their site says there's a problem eith my account:(

Could someone do a runup check and cycle the mags using the VC mag switch? Run up to about 1700RPM then cycle mags, Both-Right-Both-Left-Both. Normally there should be a drop of RPM when going to the left or right mag. This Stag cycling the mags cuts the engine off when switching to right or left.

Thanks
TJ

All of the Carenado/Alabeos eventually end up with Flight1, and I think Aerosoft too.

Confirmed Baz's observation, one of the propblades facing wrong direction....no wonder it had prop sound issues in flight LOL

After initial purchase issues, I've got this addon. In my opinioin, this is one of the best value addon airplanes in a LONG time.

It is of SERIOUS quality. Not being a pilot, I'm obviously in no position to comment on FDE etc, but its pure pleasure, and a great deal of FUN to fly. It 'feels' wonderful and I'm grateful to the developer for keeping it's price to one I can afford!!!

I know that PC Aviator carries Alabeo and Carenado as well.

ATTENTION. Just noticed another bug. The tailwheel is supposed to be free castoring.
Hence the steering angle in the cfg file should be 180deg. A 'classic' steerable angle would be around 33deg. But on the Alabeo version this angle is set to 90deg which makes taxiing (and maintaining heading during the initial take off run) very difficult.

point.0=1, -23.4, 0.0, 0.2, 2000, 0, 0.32, 90, 0.1, 1.44, 0.5, 7, 10, 0.0, 120, 120

Well having read everyone's comments, I've decided to go for it and as we speak the zip file is downloading. Really looking forward to this, as have some time in David Gilmour's G-BRVE and would like to see if my previous flights can be replicated. Was always a lovely aeroplane to fly in, but some reason I'll always remember that it used to bounce on grass due to the coiled undercarriage. The pilot always knew when we were about to touch down as I would move my legs to one side, as in readiness for the undulating arrival!!!

Best wishes and smooth landings,

Martin

Thanks! Also, can someone check my reading? Looking at the charts, I should be able to fly max cont power with 34" MP @ 2200rpms at 4500 ft right? Obviously they didnt model wear and tear but I just want to make sure I'm reading them right. Also confirm 4000 ft is the altitude for best forward speed?

Excellent thanks!

Thanks for the documents, that helps a lot. Now if the mag switch, prop sounds/blade, and carb temp gauge can be fixed, the Bogey can become a Par I think.

Still would like some documentation on the fuel tank usage. Just guessing, assuming the upper tanks are farther aft of the lower tanks, burning upper tanks first would make sense. Lower forward CG would seem to make it more stable during the flight.

Cheers

Actually I did lose the ability to retract flaps and gear like the other poster who had the issue. Before I was flying stock C172... everything was on.

Odd.
