If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I have been playing with this!
Me too! I have two version, one bare metal... the other black metal.
Looking good!!!
Looking at the DC-3 engine this morning, I thought a photo would great but just to much in the way, Ted, I think that looks much better !![]()
...it would be wonderful if the accuracy or quality of the flight model for this a/c approached the quality of the artwork. Perhaps that is already the case, I don't know.
With the big caveat that I'm not a pilot and have no RL exposure to DC-3's... I have faith in Alexander Metzger's ability to deliver top-notch flight dynamics, and the aircraft has that sense of mass that I associate with all his work, from his old freeware fix for the default 172, to the Dreamfleet Archer II, all the way up to the Sibwings Antonov. His name doesn't come up often enough in these discussions - to me he's an unsung hero of this project.

BTW I looked for his free files a couple if months back, and they seem to have disappeared.... Anyone with a link?

Yep, AM did the FD! Models by Manfred Jahn, flight dynamics by Alexander M. Metzger, gauges, animations, and failure conditions by Hansjoerg Naegele.I completely agree! If AM is involved in the flight dynamics they are already as accurate as FSX will allow. I can tell you that I do experience the inherent stability of mass momentum, as well as the need for a very positive shove on the rudder to keep the ball centered. I wonder if RW technique requires leading with rudder? She languidly strolls down final, jostled by eddies, yet unperturbed and with the supreme confidence of knowing she will sedately find her way to the centerline. Never have I used as much up aileron into the wind on crosswind ground operations- and yet, after a few days of sheer panic, she has built confidence that if I promptly apply correct technique, she will not go wandering into the weeds. I have wondered who came up with the AIR file and if it's AM then Manfred's DC-3 already has the best man for the job.
