I've heard a few are having problems with seeing over the nose on landing. The view is limited somewhat but not enough to hinder the landing on a clear day...I haven't experienced it in bad weather yet.

There was a 5kt crosswind on final so using differential power was vital. I dug out my CH throttle and mapped it to the four engines to help out in this. She was very smooth and stable as she settled.

...my crew love me.....give it time :icon_lol:

an update on Fuddy:

Lewis, it's fine if Nath did this one already, you'll just have more choice, and you can compare the two.

Okay Jankees.... Now you must do this... The force is strong with you... and it is telling you to do this one..

Yes, I feel the force, it is strong, it is very strong...

but the force does not tell me if the girl is on both sides, or if you want missions markers and stuff like that....

Jan Kees, as you asked, the nose art on Champaign Lady is to be on both sides of the nose. You can see some very good pictures of the exact location of the nose art on both sides within the photos in this thread:

About mission markers, Witt would be much more knowledgeable about it than I, but I have found in at least one piece of artwork in their hangar, that there are "black-bomb" marks painted, as seen in this photo:

And this photo and the one attached, show the tail markings very clearly:

I really like the wartime OD green paints. There are alot of the baremetal liveries made. Dont get me wrong they look great I just like the dirty war paints.

Andrew

Thanks John, I based myself on the pic Witt supplied, but I'll go back to the drawing board.

Andrew, don't worry, the old ones will come too.

Meanwhile, here's a mix of the two:

great looking aircraft

the detail on this aircraft is amazing, very glad they updated the crew, they look much more realistic, love the sheepskin jacket, the headphones, even the oxygen mask is correct with the little bladder, and the crew moving really adds to a great looking aircraft, the only thing missing, at least from the screenshots i've seen is a mae west.

:salute:

Great Paints !!

The flak effect is fantastic, I dropped the bombs, this was super fun, A night raid Mission with the flak effect would be super - I look forward to it -

Do the bombs explode when they hit the ground ?

Many Cheers - :ernae:

Sorry....YouTube seems to have swallowed the video I uploaded :mix-smi:

Try this one instead...

Sorry about that Jankees.... Yeah, it's on both sides, however, that being said, it doesn't have to be... As a matter of fact, my dad said if he knew how difficult the paint was going to be that we used, he would have just done the one side. And I don't think it really matters with the mission count. Our aircraft is fictional so feel free to use some artistic license!

It looks great by the way! Absolutely Fantastic.... Keep cracking them out! At this rate, you should have a paint for every flyer out there left... that's only like 14... so you're almost there!

I notice the paints on the accusim seem to have sharper textures than on the no accusim which I have. Are the repaints for the accusim usable on the non acusim version and if so will they appear as crisp ?

Cheers

I think so, but as I upgraded, I'm not sure...you will miss the new, improved bumpmaps of course...

I just tried the new "Fuddy Duddy" with my B-17G without accusim and it works fine. The textures are much sharper than my old "Fuddy Duddy" repaint. Now I'm off to download more of the new repaints.

I just uploaded and approved three new paints on OZx: Lady Jane, Fuddy Duddy and Ice Cold Katy.
Give them a try, and let me know if you like them (or not).
More to follow soon(ish)

JanKees

p.s. aluminium overcast: any good pics of the noseart?
