Beech AT-11 KANSAN Released

"And to Racartron, Thanks for the SW Lights settings. Much appreciated! Although The beacon underneath and the tail are not working for some reason. (all switches are on) They work for you?"

The beacon show up on mine. but the tail light is another matter. Milton modelled the tail light into only the civilian version and so far I haven't been able to get my version to show up--anywhere. Since I've already added strobes where none existed before, I'm not quite sure why I can't do the same with the tail light. But I will win this battle.

Brilliant as always. But from the past work, I expected this would be too.
I have to say though that the sound pack may be one of the BEST I've ever heard!
Amazing. Very close to really being there.

The light on the tail was actually a bombers light, not a navigation one of any sort. I thought I had removed the modeled bomber's light from all of them but I have missed one on the domed observation model I see. The civilian version has the lights on the elevator modeled in.

I figured as much, but in my education process with shockwave light placement, I've been able to add lights pretty much anywhere I want--whether they were in the model or not, so that is my conundrum with the tail light. Like I said, no strobes were there but they were simply added. see below

light.10 = 2, -0.7, -23.495, 1.684, fx_shockwave_strobe , << Added & shows
light.11 = 2, -0.7, 23.495, 1.684, fx_shockwave_strobe_2 , << Added & shows

light.12 = 3, -45.33, 0.00, 3.72, fx_shockwave_navwhi_nl , << Added but doesn't show. Location values are just to find the light before adjusting to the correct location.

I'm not trying to associate a light with a switch, just put it in. With the Strobes you can turn them on/off with the "o" key.

I'll keep fiddling as it's actually fun to "light up" fs birds.

Seems like several of us are working on the same lighting project.

Two comments. Your coordinates for light 12 seem way off: -45.33 is longer than the a/c it seems. Here is what I came up with - and I should add that the external view indicates the light is red, not white. Perhaps someone can verify this?

light.6 = 3, -23.55, 0, 3.05, fx_shockwave_navred_nl

Ah I just found Milton's comment:
The light on the tail was actually a bombers light

So, what was the purpose of the bomber's light and what color was it? Maybe it can be set to as a recognition light?

Thanks does not seem to cover how wonderful this work is!! Wow! Well worth any wait. Again, Sir, thank you very much. Take care.

Milton and team : THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I wish Walter and Olive Ann could have seen the result's of your efforts.

As a kid during WWII I lived near the Beechcraft planet which was located between E. Central and E. Kellogg in Wichita, KS. Many years later after completing my 20 year USAF career I was employed as a technical illustrator with Beechcraft.

You and your teams attenation to detail and quaility standards reflect the Beechcraft standards of aircraft performance and reliability. Your AT-11 has set the standard for flight simulation.

sbp :salute:

Like I said in my note, I am just trying to get the daggone light to shiow up. Once I can see it I can move it about to match the actual point. 'Course it was in the wee hours of the morning when I was doing the fiddling, but I couldn't get the light to show anywhere, in the vicinity of the plane. I actually started around 25.00 but never "saw the light.":icon_lol:

I'll give yours a shot. Thanks

edit: Your values worked perfectly. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why nothing I did showed the light. Regardless, the point is "moot" as you solved it. Thanks

Mr Shupe Is A Great Man!!!

I am compltely in awe of Mr Shupe..just think it took a team to put this project together!! I remmenber watching Black Hawk serial and that was the plane they used.

Cheers

Casey

Thanx to all concerned...a bright moment in our Flight Sim world...the effect noted here shows that Simming is alive and well. This from by unselfish people who truly love this great hobby,and continually ,present us , with one gift after another. These ,all great Gifts from Mr.Milton,!..Great art work by All!!!.Thank you all!!

Milton, thank you and your associates very much for an excellent airplane package. I flew the Cuban paint job version last night out of San Antonio de los Baños, just to see what the AT-11 (and Cuba) looked like in FS9. Great plane, great paints, great sounds! Default MS Cuba, on the other hand, looks kinda generic. :d

I've no idea what's going on with the strobes. I checked them in ACM (they're there) , reinstalled SW Lights (they're installed), hit the O-key, L-key and flipped every flipping switch to no avail. I tried the lights on every model and paint and, nadda, zip zilch a roonie, nogo.

I don't get it

Thanks a million, Milton...this is a great model. I'm posting a couple shots of, to me, a little plus.
Sometimes in VC's of some models, rain doesn't always show up on the windshield very well...out of the side windows it looks ok, but in this one, the rain shows up just fine and moves on the windshield well. Is this something that you engineered or did it just happen to come out this way? mid

Thank you Milton and team. Just tried it out this morning - very nice release of course! :jump::jump::jump:

And to think I was trying to rush this release (after 18 months of sweating the details), and the F7F's so I could get started on the E-1B and the C-1A and S2F.

Milton since you and your team might be doing the S-2F Tracker there's some information and photos on the Collings Foundation's own website - http://www.collingsfoundation.org/Houston/tx_s2ftracker.htm

Thanks Middle :) The VC Rain effect is done as prescribed in the SDK. The key to getting the rain to move in the correct directions is simply aligning the maps to allow flow as it would naturally. Bill Leamings showed the way many years ago in FS2004 on this effect. The VC rain effect was also available in our original D18S release back in 2005. I am happy that you noticed as it does take some work. :wiggle:

Thank you Sir; I have been there and to many, many more. I have completed data collection on the project thanks to the help of so many right here at SOH, and that is greatly appreciated. :applause:

By the way, if you haven't heard Gary's sound pack yet, you're missing something great. This is the smoothest pack I've heard in quite some time.
