For all of those who were having frame rate and load time issues, please report back how you do with the DXT3 textures. If you are doing well with them, then there is no need to convert the 4 models to a low poly VC version. However, if you still need the lower-poly VC versions, I will do them.
So, let me hear from you please.
Bonjour Milton,
My rig handles FSX and Acceleration but I usually get a bad case of the stutters with almost every planes that I fly. I guess she's a bit slow per se and there isn't much that I can do about it presently.
However, when I tried your AT-11 with the long load time and heavy files, the fps (around 10-13) remained the same as usual but there was no longer any stuttering of the screen...
Mind you, I did have to restart the PC a few times as after a few flights, I seemed to get all types of bad vibes coming on the screen. After reboot, everything was back to normal, whatever the normal is, as they say...
When you uploaded your DXT3 with no MIPs, I wanted to try that as I do get the blurries associated with MIP mapping and that is usually a pain to watch.
I think I'll stick with your DXT3 with NO MIPs from now on with this gorgeous baby...:salute:
The loading time is really much better, the screens are still sharp without any stutters and I don't have to reboot the PC as I did before. However, the FPS has dropped a wee bit (around 7 to 10) without affecting the visual quality (inside and out) of the plane itself or the scenery...
Thank you again for your talent and generosity as well as that of the other team members.
As a footnote and my way of thanking you in kind, I'm enclosing pics of two "What if's" that I'm presently working on . The bare skin one is almost done whereas the "camo" still needs some bit of weathering as I prefer my WWII veterans to be rough and a little dirty from wear...
The camo sports DXT3 (No MIPs) and the bare one still has the 32 bits texture. I seem to have less problems with the camo as far as the joining of the textures is concerned in comparison with the bare ones which did not always cover the joints (or seams) as well as I would have expected.
Cheers,
Fleurdelys
