Bry`s Winston Churchill C-54B CCAA

Looking good Bry. Nearly to the end.

Thanks mate , got to get this finished before vacation . Still smarting over my stupid gear up landing at SPJE . Drooped the gear on finals but must have knocked the gear button on my flight stick accidentally . Should have checked for "3 greens" before touchdown as usual but didn`t and cost was high . I believe the most successful Cargo Hauler will be "maintenance free" and all of you fine pilots have the ability to run this clean :) Anyway onwards to Chile :) All the best to all fellow pilots . It sure is alot of fun this and a big tip of the hat to the organisers for an amazing challenge

Well that was not as straight forward as I planned . There is a huge 80+ mile dry lake to cross with no reference except the mountains on the opposite side . I had my "entry peak" planned before but this relied on reasonable viz . Not only was the flight across the salt/dry lake in heavy clouds but I also copped a 40kt cross/head/tail wind to keep on top of . Relief came as a gap in the clouds revealed my peak and the rest was no problem albeit with a hefty 26kt crosswind landing . Happy to be in Chile . Ps Happy Independance Day to all American Pilots . Enjoy

Families worldwide are huddled around their radios, listening for the big news, as the crowds start to overflow onto the Salta runway ...

Safe arrival at SASA . Many crowds waiting at Salta . A real sneaky last leg with ranges along the direct route at 20000+ . Carefully negotiated . Luckily blessed with beautiful clear skies until final dive after last range passed close to airfield . Headed for the Salta NDB in some "soupy" skies to intersect for a Rwy 06 approach . Trust the instruments Bry and the rwy will show herself . Nice big airfield with plenty of options but 6 was good . Summary to follow :)

Congratulations, Bry. Brilliant. (One supposes that the police will guard the aircraft from the mass of souvenir seekers. I understand that it was meant to be returned in pristine condition. Might be tricky to explain a few missing wing panels.)

Congrats on a great final leg and a very well flow event!

Have a great trip to Peru and send us some snapshots of the real deal.
