C-97G Stratofreighter Uploaded

WND,

Thanks It is not necessary as I did not realize I could turn off or on any specific engine using cool window monitor panel so that I can taxi from runway to gate or cargo apron using two engines instead of four engines to save fuel. I just thought I had to use each of four yellow mixture control levels for each of engines to turn it off or on.

And since de-ice function has not yet installed on KC-97/C-97, will those planes work in sub zero arctic conditions such as Alaska without having instrumental gauges fail due to lack of pitot tube?

Regards,

Aharon

Aharon: for the combined de-icing functions see Monitor > Engines > OAT > on/off.

As Dan has noticed, the ice patch on the wings is missing on all paints including mine, duh. I forgot to activate a layer... Here is a pic of the WIP HC-97G. The red circles show where these ice patches should be. I'll add them to my paints in the next update. Sorry about that!

Repainters: here is a quick an dirty png layer containing only these patches, simply copy/paste to your combined 1/2 texture:

I reworked Aero Pacifico XA-PII and uploaded it to Library.

Thank you Manfred, I'm doing my happy dance......she is beautiful!!!!!!

A couple of derelict C97s at Stockton back in the 1990s. I don't know if they survived to see further service or not. I recall being inside one though dodging birds that were attacking me in the main cabin.

Finally in bed, today the Carboniferous fluvial sands and the Posidonia shale, tomorrow the Rotliegendes.... if this makes any sense to you?

Sounds like you are in the South of Germany. However I prefer the Bavarian beer :very_drunk:

Thanks for the repaint, I like it :encouragement:

Cheers,
Huub

Superb Manfred...a HC-97G! :applause:

Yeap, Thanks Jan. :encouragement: I am curious about Petroleum geology in Germany. Enjoy the trip.

Is it my imagination or is MJahn saying that the ice warning patch is operative on KC-97s and C-97 models by turning grey or shiny if ice is forming on the leading edge?

Aharon

Ca ang

I think I am beginning to get the knack for adding those ice patches - thanks to Duckie's tutelage :applause:

Here is the CA ANG with the ice patches added.

That is such a shame to see old warriors sitting there is such disarray, waiting there fate of becoming future coffee pots, frying pans or FORD F-150's.
The 2015 F150 is made from aluminum, that is why I mentioned it.

Most of us have been shaving with razor blades made from the scrapped Navy ships as well.

Red Tail with Ice Patch

USAF 30187 (53-0187) of the 19th AREFS, painted in day-glo orange for operations from Sonderstrom Airbase, Greenland in the early '60's. Repaint by Jan Kees Blom for Manfred Jahn's C-97, based on the paintkit by Manfred and team.

I added the ice patches - I guess all C/K 97 variants must of had these ice patches. Hope you don't mind JK , I just used my copy - figure you may want to redo and reissue with the ice patches.
