Just when you think you have everything running some what better...

You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.

    1. November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
    2. November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
    3. November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
    4. November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.

If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.

To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.

    Thank you for your support.

As JensOle suggested, send a PM if you want to ask the designer to make 2 different aircraft models for you....................and don't forget to ask him how much money you will need to pay.

Now, can we have this thread back on the C-97 and nothing else.
Thank you!

Why nothing else???

I don't think I've ever seen so many posts in such a short time. Spammer me thinks!!

That would be ever so cool but I'm pretty certain the answer is no. You can call the tanker up if you have TacPack and take fuel from it but I don't think there's any way to get AI to come to you for fuel if you're flying it. Great idea though:encouragement:

I guess the other option would be to set up a network and fly two planes online from different PCs, fly the tanker up and put it on AP than take up a fighter with the other PC.

Yup.. that's certainly possible. I've done it myself (years ago with FS9 and WideFS) but it's not easy. Perhaps an easier option might be using FS Recorder for one flight (the tanker) and then fly to it in something else. Even so.. I don't believe the boom is actually setup to 'give' fuel.. you'd have to simulate that bit;)

They never flew that variant but I would guess that if Air Cargo had been more profitable back then Pan Am might have used a few C97s......

Hi folks, sorry to be a pain, but where can you download this Livery and will it work with Manfred's C-97 V3?, it's totally stunning!

Hi MrZippy,

Please forgive this twit who is typing this, thank you for your kind reply, I have clicked your link but it only takes me to a C-97 update query page, no PAA livery that I can see, I can find a Pan Am 'Meat Ball' livery but that is only for the C-97 v1!?, I know It's got to be me going wrong here some where!

It looks like that link to a dropbox no longer works. PM me your email and I'll send you the PAA texture folder. Looks like dropbox files loose it after a while!

The Folks on this site are first class!, thanks again Charlie for the PAA livery and the inside wing fix which was an added bonus!, fix supplied to the other seven C-97's I have, not as many as the thirty C-47's I've seemed to collected!!!!, it's all the polished metal work!

And I should add, thanks to dmq who was the artist that put the PAA livery together in the first place!, and Manfred for the C-97 too!. excellent work.
