Canberra Bomber Power pack out now

Oh, I'd say it was right around the corner ;)

TT.18s are indeed included, with working winches. The release paints do not include a RAE Llanbedr version, if I'm thinking the same one you are (the raspberry ripple/black and yellow undersides), this was actually a modded B.2, not a true TT.18. I am going to knock out some repaints to follow on from the release mind you. The release DOES include a FRADU TT.18 along with a dirty late-era 100 Sqn version.

Watch this space for details sports fans!

Wing_Z, that is a GORGEOUS shot of the Ecuadorian B.6; I dunno what filters/treatment you've got going in FS or added in post, but it is amazingly crisp and the tones are fantastic. Ref the nose wheel track; that is the first I've heard of it myself, it functions fine for me, but then I am perhaps the last person to judge having stared at these things for months on end :)

Yeah Jamie! Nice one, I hope you have a good one, mate. It might be a late birthday present, but we're doing beta right now and I'd say are pretty close. Just working on the pilot's notes myself at the mo. Happy birthday anyway.

Yep, have a good one Jamie.

Personally I'm looking on this as an early crimbo present to myself!:jump:

Thank you Steve, you do your customers proud :)
Here's a clip of the nosewheel scrubbing; I have messed with friction values in my sim, so if it's not doing this for you or others, I will fiddle a little more here.

Hi Wing_Z; nice clip, problem is, I can't see exactly what appears to be wrong. Maybe I'm just blind to it. Is anyone else having a problem with it? I'll kick it to my beta team and see what they can come up with. What do you mean when you say you have messed with your friction values exactly?

BTW, was that clip from FS9 or FSX - looked really crisp. Do you use light bloom?

Yes sorry I meant to say: click through and look at it fullscreen as it's HD - you can't make out what's happening otherwise. What you see is that the plane turns "faster" than the nose-wheel direction suggests. So the wheel is scrubbed sideways somewhat.

Friction: there's a file called SIM1.dll in the modules folder, that affects ground handling. I have a custom one which makes POSKY planes behave. Some planes do not like this mod, maybe the Canberra is one?

This being the FS9 forum...yes, and do I use light bloom.

A last question: how do you fire the rockets? I should do the hard yards and not bother you, but here I am, typing... :)

Shh. Don't mention the rockets, mine fire uncommanded when the B16 loads, I have to take off through a vast sheet of flame. I suppose it replicates a preemptive strike by the bad guys. I like the gun pack effects on other versions and am looking forward to the next release.

Sorry Harry, still no joy on figuring out what's going on with your rockets. I've asked my beta testers and no one has reported this problem or can replicate it, and so far, you're still the only user to have reported it as well. Not that I am trying to downplay it by any means, but it's very hard to suss out your issue when you can't replicate it. All I can say is, take off with lights off if you don't want to get blown up on the ground! Sorry can't be of more help.

Wing_Z, rockets for most of us are fired by smoke systems key - there is an animations.txt file with each model that covers the ins and outs of what each one does if you need more help.

Sorry Harry, still no joy on figuring out what's going on with your rockets.
Harry, did you try resetting your default flight to something that definitely doesn't have smoke on?

Wing_Z, rockets for most of us are fired by smoke systems key - there is an animations.txt file...
Ah the life of the developer...user group that includes stupid, obtuse or lazy, in any combination!
Of course I hadn't read the animations.txt file, it's in with the model which I normally flush of all ID, jpg and other non-essential bits :).
Could've sworn I tried smoke, but clearly brain fart had clouded my vision.
Thank you for your patience...
Yeehaw!

Disaster!

Playing back a Recorder Module track as AI, produces an unexpected result.
While carrying the ladders along might cause the enemy to laugh themselves to death, it does nothing for the aerodynamics!

CanRM2.jpg

Now I know this is not really your problem, Steve, but perhaps you could provide some insight into what makes this stuff appear?

Honestly, I have no idea. This is something that came up earlier via PM to me, and I still don't have the answer. My only theory is this: since the objects are set to appear on 0 hydraulic PSI (i.e. on full engine spooldown), it might be possible that played-back aircraft for some reason appear 'dead' in FS Recorder , i.e not with recorded airspeed data, live engines, PSI etc.

Again, this is only a theory, and I think it was brought up on the FS Recorder forum but not yet resolved. It's a bugger admittedly, as it spoils things for both multiplayer and FS recorder users. For me, it only affects AI traffic playbacks; my own user-controlled aircraft is fine.

All I can say is, until this is figured out, I would advise any developers not to use 0 hydraulic PSI 'parked config (as I call it) code. What I can do is do a test some other code options and see if that works. But for now, you're going to have to throw everything and the kitchen sink at the enemy I'm afraid!

Mmm only other thing I could add is that when you load a flight, the ladders are briefly visible, then disappear.
So it is a transient startup issue.

Yes, one that apparently locks the appearance of the ladders etc beyond startup. I'm downloading the new 2.0 version of FS recorder now in the vain hopes that it has fixed the issue.

Steve,

one thing. STOP mucking about with FSrecorder and such and get the next one done. I've spent my birthday money and will need to try and slip the next one in before 'er indoors notices I've spent it already. Time is running out.

Jamie.

PS. I am just teasing, good-humouredly I might add. I'm just awfully chuffed with them so far, hungry for the next.
