Canberra Bomber Power pack out now

LOL, good one mate, I like the attitude! Those are the kind of orders I like to follow, reign me in before I get too bogged down eh? I will duly see if I can sort this before the Tinballs window closes and the smack gets laid down. Watch this space and I'm glad that despite the odd flying ladders, some fun is still being had ;)

.....and the smack gets laid down.

now lets not get to hasty here, now you mention it, there's a time and place for these things. Patience is a virtue and I may just have to 'man-up' and take my punishment, perish the thought, lol. Good things come to those who wait, even while they're waiting sometimes ;)

all the best,
Jamie

Third Time Lucky

Strange, how these models always bring out the gentle, caring, side...:tgun2:

Thanks for doing these, Steve, definitely clears the sinuses...

Ehh do believe I posted in the wrong Canberra thread!
Canberra threads are everywhere!
Hooray!

WICKED screenshot there, mate, love the low-level rocket runs, not to worry if it's in the wrong thread. How did you get that bomb splash by the way? Looks very nice, great scenery and composition. Looks like a rogue Rhodie pilot decided he didn't like a boatload of tourists...

I have no idea unfortunately, this is the first time I've had it reported, perhaps some of our FSX-savvy friends on here can report if X renders coords differently from FS9. Sorry about that Zsolts, my advice - come back over to good old 2004!

I could check myself, but haven't installed it yet, and it won't be in FSX I'm afraid.

Two things, is the rocket effect tied to the smoke effect? If it is, FS9 doesn't allow vertical co-ordinates (it does but the don't actually change the elevation of the effect, they all stay at centreline height ie. 0. So if the smoke co-ordinates in the cfg have a vertical component this will not show in FS9. But on the other hand FSX does display this vertical component and this may be the root of the problem?

Other than that no idea,
Jamie

Yep, the rockets are tied to the smoke systems, but do not have a vertical effect, they should just fly out straight and level, although like you, Jamie, I can't speak for what happens in X.

The smoke effect indeed does have a vertical component...

[SMOKESYSTEM]
//Note: Z,Y,X (pos being forward, above and right of datum)
Smoke.0 = -15.0, 3.0, -15.8, fx_matrapod
Smoke.1 = -15.0, 3.0, -15.6, fx_matrapod
Smoke.2 = -15.0, 3.0, 15.8, fx_matrapod
Smoke.3 = -15.0, 3.0, 15.6, fx_matrapod

FS9 doesn't recognise this for some reason and reverts it to 0.0, FSX on the other hand does and will move the effect to the given amount, to get it right trial and error is the key, 0.0 will probably centre it on the longitudinal axis depending on the emitter coords in the fx file itself.

Jamie

Yeah, it was weird, I remember at the time I had to set it 3 ft above datum as I was indeed having trouble with the vertical value in the fx file itself. It seems to run right for us FS9 users, but as we saw in Zsolt's FSX shots, the height was indeed 3 ft above datum (Suprise!). So as Jamie says, FSX users might want to try lowering it 0.

All very interesting lessons learned today.

Cheers Steve, in FS anything is possible - and should be, right? thanks to guys like you!
I have no compunction letting Ethiopian pilots have a go at sinking the Picton Ferry...
Splash is shopped, sadly...wouldn't it be nice to get a nice big Ga-Bloomp water effect for a bomb in FS9?

It would indeed, sadly the splash effect is beyond my current skills, but I would think well in the realm of a Rob B (hint hint!). Either way, love the 'shop work and indeed, third time lucky. Best thing about the Ethiopian B.52 is that if you bombing skills are under par, you can always have a go with the gun packs ;)

Sounds like the Libyan rebels could do with a few B.52s themselves (both the Brit and US kind!)

It does indeed, the only thing I messed up is that those T.17s belong to the Tugs and Trainers pack, so wrong thread post! Anyway, most of you will get my drift by now and know where to go :)

Thanks for the paints Steve, the barley grey one does indeed look very interesting.

Steve, you are working too hard. :salute: I believe that the data.txt files with both textures are in the opposite zip files. The data.txt file for WK111, for example, contains the entry for WH902 and visa versa.

Regardless, thanks for the great new textures and all your hard work.

Ugh. I am working too hard, that is no joke. This new day job is literally frying my brain. Perhaps I should put all FS work on hold for a while till I get my head straight! So, thanks again WH for finding my mistakes! I will get that sorted ASAP, may not be until tonight for anyone thinking of downloading them today mind you.

The saga continues....:)

Oh no, don't do that. That's why we're here to support you. LOL :jump::jump:
