Ok I tried it and it works fine appart from the fact that the panel is not clickable.
However, I still get the chrome panel as soon as I switch ON any lights. I thought you guys had fixed that problem, or did I misread the topic ?

Ok, problem fixed with the four textures and the panel entries posted on page 6 of this topic. I thought those fixes were included in the flightsim.com archive, my mistake.

I just downloaded the FSX Cessna 195 "Shakey Jake" that is linked above. He put the panel.195x folder inside of the regular panel folder. The VC bitmaps are there.

He also made more changes to the panel, which won't coincide with the panel.cfg I made. Some gauges also don't show in the VC.

Not trying to nitpick, but, I don't want him giving me credit for that.

Download the original Joe Binka Shakey Jake and my panel update and you will see what I mean...Don
 
N2161C Repaint Uploaded

My N2161C repaint and panel set has been uploaded { http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?catid=3&linkid=4383 }

It includes 2 new panels, an air file tweak for the EGT, and the livery.

If you don't already know, landing lights "on" will allow instrument lighting without having the panel lights on. Great for night flying.
The landing lights don't illuminate the ground in front of the plane, but do light a couple small spots on the ground under the wing...Don

Added the two folders to the "cessna195" folder(panel & texture)
Copied and pasted into the aircraft.cfg file and numbered it the next which is "2"

Does not show up?

Ideas?

Check the sim= line in the other cfg entries. This download has an "x" after the Cessna195 which isn't in any of my entries. It's mentioned in his readme file.:salute:
 
Sorry, folks! The issue isn't the .air file! The sim=cessna195x calls the air file that has only the EGT correction.

The problem with it not showing is the panel=xc. That was a test panel I was using when I wrote the readme. The correct line is panel=N2161C.

Again, I'm Sorry. I'll correct the download immediately...Don

Note: You do need to put cessna195x.air in the plane's main folder too!

One other question, the picture you show of the white panel when I go to download your plane has many gauges displayed-the one that came with the download has only a few gauges on each side....

Make sure you have copies of Extra_XML.cab, Beech_Baron.cab and verify Mooney_Bravo.dll in your gauges folder.
I used all FSX default gauges, so you should have them.

I put a copy of all the default .cabs in FSX/Gauges a long time ago because so many addons use them. I can't remember which .cabs were where when FSX was installed.

I only was missing the Extra.cab--just added to the gauges folder

Are you saying I should go to each default aircraft panel folder and copy and past each.cab file in the main FSX guages folder?

I have downloaded a lot of planes that use the default gauges and came to the conclusion that having the default .cabs in the gauges folder was easier than making copies for the new plane's panel folder.
I did that too long ago to remember!...CRS syndrome...

It also saves drive space, which on my SSD is at a premium.

I do a lot of panel tweaking and that allows their use on all panels.
I just need to remember to tell folks that they'll need to do the same...Don

I think it was pretty realistic, but, I don't have a clue what it should sound like...Don
BTW, I'm using the default DHC2 sound, ATM.
 
Landing lights for Shakey Jake Model??

The landing lights extend and retracting using the keys C and V which are associated with the concorde visor extending and retracting. When I add landing lights in the cfg file I can turn the landing lights on and off via the switch in the cockpit or L on the keyboard. Is there any way to combine the two separate functions via an XML coded gauge that will turn on the lights with the extension of the wing lights and visa versa?
Can an expert in XML provide any help to solve this combination of functions?
