Champ camp: Show us your screens.......

im really sorry to hear this..i hope someone can pass my condolances on to his family..ill miss him...he was great..

Say what!!! Mike passing away? Can't be true...I had a project the he had that I pretty much finished for him and now he won't be able to see how it came out. Rest in peace buddy, you're now in aviation heaven watching over us:engel016:

This is such sad news. Mike was the first person on here to send me a PM about a subject. He seemed to go out of his way for people. Really try and help them out. And his passion for aviation will sorely be missed.

Rest in peace Pointy :engel016:

Man.. Mike has emailed me countless times.. Always a gentleman.. Everytime he emailed me, for some reason, his name reminded me of that guy on Saturday Night Live, that later did the comedy spy movies, Mike Meirs.

This really gets to me. I am sorry to hear this. Pointy was a major voice here. I cant believe we only just found out.

My condolences to his family and friends. For us, we lose a SOH family member.

Rest in peace Pointy. Blue skies and awesome flights.

Jesus used to say something about death that confused and confounded people. He called it 'sleep'.

Sleep well Mike.. Sleep well Sir.

Gods speed.

Michael Mire ... rest in peace ... you will be sorely missed not only by friends and family, but also from your Flight Simulation Buddies, Thank you for your great spirit. Soar to the heavens now my Friend.

Mike

Hey All,

Real Bummer that Mike has left us. He will be missed. I never saw anybody more enthused about a particular aircraft than he was about the Champ. These three are the best Champ paints I know of. Thank You Caz! I remember how enthused Pointy was when he first saw these - the tractor paints: Ford, Minneapolis Moline and John Deere. RIP Mike.

Kodaks

1) A Champ on downwind to Chelan S10
2) Another Champ circling the patch at Lewistown Montana
3) One last Champ - A last flight into the sunset over Lake Pontchartrain...

Mike, I hope you're flying your personal Aeronca high above all of us. Your humour and general good will to us all will be sorely missed.

I must thank eac and every one of the SOH gang for the outpouring of condolences for the wonderful man.

I found this short obituary on Mike and wanted to post it here along with a photo of him with his grandson. He never met a stranger.

Not coming here often I have just found out about this.

This deeply saddens me. Being from the same area of the country and in the same industry we had a lot in common. I will miss Mike.

May you have all the boudin and Dixie (beer) you can hold, friend.
