Champ camp: Show us your screens.......

Such sad news! We will miss you tremendously Mike! May you rest in peace my friend!

~Prayers & blessings to his family and friends~

"My soul is in the sky." ~William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night's Dream

I never knew Pointy, though I read several of his posts throughout my time here at SOH. He struck me of the witty kind. A calling like this makes me think of the high mountains and the deep valleys below.

Soar high in the skies..peer down on your friends. Guide me along my journey if I take the wrong path. I'll watch as you sail the sky above. Rising ever so higher as your journey begins. Send me the right direction...as the moon gleams on the frosty tops of the heavens.

Fly free...soar high. Be free.

Rest in peace my feathered friend.

I didn't know Pointy at all, but I was sorry to learn of his passing.
My deepest condolences to his family.

Such sad news to find that we've all lost a good friend. Thanks, Cazzie, for sharing the news with us.
Mike had turned out to be one of my best friends in the flightsim world. he was always coming up with some new idea for a champ paint scheme for me to try. Hope I did them justice for you Mike. you'll really be missed. RIP, old friend.:ernae: :engel016:
Condolences and best wishes to your family.

Same here John, I was about to PM you and saw your post. Mike was always emailing me with a photo of a Champ or Tri-Champ and I would respond in kind with a repaint. He was an inspiration to all of us here at SOH and his humor will be most missed in all forums here.

I'm betting he's up there in Heaven prodding Leon Lewis to do some paints right now. :engel016:

Caz,

I too am sorry to here the news of Pointy (Mikes) passing, and my prayers go out to his family.

Pointy's friendly posts and excitement about anything to do with the Champ camp and for that matter any freeware in general were so positive.

Thank you Pointy for your influence on me, to be a better and positive member at the outhouse...and life

Stu

I'm in Wilmington NC on Business but when I get home to my computer I'll post my screen shot for Pointy

Wow..... I don't know what to say. I had many great conversations with Mike over the years. Every few months he would shoot me an email to see what I was up to. I now know why I haven't gotten any lately.

He was one of the main driving forces behind the L-16 and champ for FS9.

He was a great asset to this community and I know I will miss him dearly.

Here is a champ that Mike just had to have. Actually was an L-16. i'll have to look some more to find the screenshot i did of my repaint

Not knowing of Pointy's passing until this morning kind of odd that the following happend last night.
I had a friend come over who has been asking for some time to try out my flight simulator. His dad is a pilot and he has been interested is flying but never has persued it.
So he comes over and I put him in the pilot seat of the Champ with pointy's classic repaint and give him some lessons. I havent flown the champ in well over a year now, and ever since last night until I just found this, I'd been thinking "I need to put some hours on the champ". You'll sure be missed Pointy, and I hope you fly the tar outta that new set of wings.:ernae:

I just saw this, too. I'm glad, and now a bit sad that I returned, but just at the right time. I knew Pointy pretty well, and had the privilege of speaking with him several times.

He will indeed be missed by one more. Here's one on us, bud. :ernae: ... Oh wait, there's no smiley for Kajun Koolaid here, oh well... ya get the point. :ernae:

Fly off and explore the universe, friend. :engel016:
