Check This Out!

I tried this:

toe_brakes_scale = 1.0 //Brake scalar

And it still shakes. Did I change that entry correctly?

That would be less brake pressure when brakes are applied. Try toe_brakes_scale = 2.0 //Brake scalar Which, I think, is max pressure.

Well, it looks like it worked for a while and then started shaking again so I don't know. 2.0 did not work for me.

*Try disengaging the parking brake then re-engaging.

good evening

I do not think that the braking force is at fault!
Rather, I see the damping ratio [contact_points] in the aircraft.cfg to be adjusted! I have already varied the values and I see changes in the vibration frequency and its amplitude!
Maybe I can resolve this!

Mr Ed,

4. So, If I see some issue(s) then I am to remain silent?
Nope, by all means let them be known. I simply don't (and didn't) see this as anything worth bothering with. If I sat for an hour on a parking spot with the engines running. . .maybe, but for the short time that the brakes are on, I just see it as insignificant and not worth bothering with.

Concerning the tremors, in the aircraft cfg [weight and balance] section try changing this:

empty_weight_roll_MOI=16420.64000
empty_weight_pitch_MOI=30437.10000
empty_weight_yaw_MOI=16049.3700

to this:

empty_weight_roll_MOI=26420.64000
empty_weight_pitch_MOI=30437.10000
empty_weight_yaw_MOI=26049.3700

The new numbers came from the P3D version. Now works beautifully for me.

I had to resize the Banjo's main textures and bump maps down to 2048x2048 to get it to work on my older rig but after that no problem. Very nice jet. Thank you Rob! :encouragement:

I resized anything that was 16mb. in both the texture and texture1 folders down to 1024 otherwise it's CTD city even before the aircraft appears on my select aircraft screen.

Now it appears quickly and still looks like a million bucks!:applause:

That fix it! Wow! Thanks for sharing. :adoration:

Don't know how that was related to the issue but it works! :encouragement:

For me, it was worth "Bothering With"

The CTD is what happened to me as soon as I selected the plane. Thanks for the 16mb resize suggestion, I will try that in the future. :encouragement:

I tried the FSX Banjo in P3D (I dont have FSX anymore) with my repaints, and everything seemed to work without any glitches, so there is a good chance my repaints will work in FSX as well, without any adaptations.
This is the FSX model in my sim:
jk4568

jk4569

doesn't look so bad, does it? Can anyone try in FSX?

Will do right now! :wavey:

Wing fold and chocks

I've noticed that the wing fold will occur only when the plane is running and the chocks will appear only when the engines are off or powering down.

Guess in the real world, hydraulic power is needed for this and avail only with engines running.

With chocks in use (visible) and power off, they (chocks) will auto disappear when spooling engines, even though (Ctrl .) brakes keys are on.

Sometimes, the chocks are a little slow to appear. Maybe programed to show when engines are stopped. Pilot goes away simultaneously as chocks appear.

Just my observations.

Edit: The lights (L) key activates the ordnance (appear/disappear) at least for me.

Well, they do have (did have? old plane :) ) hydraulic bowsers they could hook up to the planes to power up the hyd systems. I know, they aren't modeled in the sim, but for real world, wherever that is, they do have them. Had to use one for my radar system to power the antenna. The F4N/J/S's radar system. I worked on those a lot.

Sorry, nit picking...
Carry on!

Hi Pat,

Now that you mentioned it, I do remember those bowsers you mentioned. I remember when F-8's would go on jack stands and a hydraulic hookup was made so that the gears
could be raised and lowered for periodic maintenance checks. It's been awhile.

Speaking of maintenance checks, I remember when aircraft were subject to calendar odd/even checks then that changed to phased maintenance checks.
The logs and records guy had to go into each aircraft logbook and convert the time due for the next cal check to the next phased maintenance interval due.

Just as a side note.

MS took my W7 desktop off life support a few days ago, so now I'm waiting for it to die (I guess ?) .... and with it my beloved FSX installation with all those wonderful addons. It is also becoming clearer each day that the new reincarnations of P3D, XPlane and MSFS2020 will most likely not have much in common with their respective previous versions, dashing my hopes of any hint of backwards compatability of any addons, and thus making a future re-install of FSX less likely for preservation purposes. I feel very sad that this is happening, but at the same time feel very excited about what the future of flightsim will bring. For me, I know I will have a brand new system soon with a new simulator, but I will have lost a very reliable OS and a loyal FSX sim (sure it had it's share of problems and drawbacks - but was priceless when it came to just plane ol' fashioned fun.)

My hats off to all the devs and painters who have not abandoned FSX just yet.
I'm looking forward to flying the Banshee in my FSX very soon.
Cheers to progress, but let's not forget about the past !
