Classics Hangar Fw190 released!

OOOOOOK now... after making 5 terrible landings, what is the secret to landing this thing without bouncing a hundred times?

:help: I don't have any problems making smooth landings with any other planes. I must be doing something seriously wrong with this one.

Slow her down to 300kph, gear down, full flaps,
come in at about 200-220 kph, short final 180 or slidely below and perform a three point landing at 160. You should come in in a slide turn and from a fairly steep angle to get a good down-visibility.
What's different with this one is that it actually models ground effect.

Yes Mathias - that ground effect is very clever and has cushioned my touch down more than once!!

So that's why I've had a tough time "floating" over the runway...no wonder. As is typical of this plane...nicely done, Classics Hangar!

Stick with it, Kiwikat. After too many attempts, I've finally found the right combination of speed, descent rate, and timing...and for me, it's all slower than I expected. Anything faster, and it's bouncy down the runway while trying to get stuck to the tarmac.

i slow it down to 300, add a notch of flap, at about 250 drop full flaps, gear down at 200, i use a really short, really steep approach so i only lose sight of the runway for a brief period during my flare.

For those of you interrested (if you don't have a principle thing against adding guns/cannons to a "civilian" flightsimulator): this FW190 package is good enough :)applause:) to modify my gun/cannon effects package specifically for it.

Like I made for various other excellent aircraft models.
With some extra FW190 models-specific details, like trigger-dependancy on arming of the nose / wingroot guns, and distinction between machinegun and cannon sounds.....

Oh yeah, and distributed as a freeware addon of course :jump:
Available in a few days from now ......

I have a quick question. I just bought this beautiful plane and I was just wondering why some people were only charged 32 usd but I was charged 39.02 usd. If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very happy.

Raptor, this is based on the current conversion rate of the Euro. It changes daily. Had you wanted to purchase this before the recession hit, it would have cost a lot more, but the Euro tanked.

There was a miss-configuration during the first four days that caused the price to be forwarded to paypal without VAT for none EURO customers.
Good luck for those US guys who bought it before last Thursday.

So basically youa re telling me that because of an error that wa snot my fault, I had to pay more than those people for the same product? I am not happy about this at all.

so did I hear you say that if I just bought the plane today I dont need to download the service pack? Also does it make a difference if i have texture max load set to 4096 rather than 2048?

No, the error made it that some folks payd less than they shoul during the first days.
You payd the normal price just like (almost) everyone else.

The service pack is optional.
If you feel you need it just download it from the "check for updates link"
Having texture max load at 4096 is fine, no problems with that.

More or less finished, and in beta-test now.
I even extended realism to dependancy and reduction/loading of the ammo counter per weapon .....
